Job Description
1. Laboratory Operations & Wet Chemistry
· Perform routine chemical analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and other laboratory samples.
· Conduct wet chemistry testing, titrations, standardizations, gravimetric and volumetric analysis as per approved methods.
· Ensure timely and accurate reporting of test results.
· Maintain laboratory records, test reports, and analytical data.
· Monitor laboratory consumables, reagents, standards, and chemicals.
2. Analytical Chemistry & Calculations
· Apply strong practical knowledge of chemistry fundamentals, chemical reactions, and analytical techniques.
· Perform analytical calculations, result verification, and data interpretation.
· Investigate abnormal results and recommend corrective actions.
· Support method validation, verification, and improvement initiatives.
3. Instrument Handling & Maintenance
· Operate and maintain laboratory instruments such as:
o Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS)
o UV-Visible Spectrophotometer
o Moisture Analyzer
o pH Meter
o Conductivity Meter
o Balance and other laboratory equipment
· Perform routine instrument checks and calibration activities.
· Coordinate with service providers for preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
4. Quality Systems & NABL Compliance
· Support implementation and maintenance of NABL requirements and laboratory quality systems.
· Maintain calibration records, SOPs, test methods, logs, and documentation.
· Participate in internal audits, external audits, proficiency testing, and compliance activities.
· Ensure adherence to laboratory procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
5. Leadership & Team Coordination
· Guide and support junior chemists, trainees, and laboratory assistants.
· Coordinate effectively with Production, Quality Assurance, Stores, and other departments.
· Ensure smooth execution of daily laboratory activities.
· Promote a culture of discipline, safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
6. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
· Analyze laboratory issues and implement practical solutions.
· Drive improvements in testing efficiency, accuracy, and laboratory practices.
· Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and support departmental objectives.
· Contribute to cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.
7. Safety & Compliance
· Follow laboratory safety procedures, chemical handling practices, and EHS requirements.
· Ensure safe storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals and laboratory waste.
· Maintain good housekeeping and 5S standards within the laboratory.
Technical Skills & Competencies:
· Strong practical chemistry knowledge.
· Wet chemistry and analytical testing expertise.
· Analytical calculations and result interpretation.
· Instrument handling and troubleshooting.
· Laboratory documentation and reporting.
· NABL quality system awareness.
Education & Experience
Educational Qualification:
· M.Sc. Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry / Industrial Chemistry OR
· B.Sc. Chemistry with relevant experience
Experience:
· 5–10 years of relevant laboratory experience in chemical, fertilizer, mineral, ceramic, pharmaceutical, or other process industries.
· Candidates from allied industries may also be considered based on practical laboratory knowledge and capability.
Pay: ₹380,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
