Job Title Badminton Head Coach / Assistant Coach

Location Bangalore, India

Reports To Sports Manager

Job Type Full-Time

Position Overview

As a Badminton Head Coach at Game Theory, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire badminton coaching program, developing training strategies, and mentoring both players and assistant coaches. The Assistant Coach will support the Head Coach in training sessions, player development, and administrative tasks. Both roles require a passion for badminton, strong coaching skills, and a commitment to player growth.

Key Responsibilities Head Coach Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for players of all skill levels.
Oversee and mentor assistant coaches to ensure consistency in coaching standards.
Design competitive training strategies to prepare athletes for local, state, and national-level tournaments.
Evaluate player performance and create individualized development plans.
Stay updated with the latest coaching techniques and advancements in badminton training.
Foster a competitive and positive learning environment.

Assistant Coach Responsibilities

Support the Head Coach in conducting training sessions.
Assist in planning and executing practice drills for different skill levels.
Provide one-on-one coaching and guidance to players.
Monitor and assess player progress, offering constructive feedback.
Help in organizing competitions, practice matches, and training camps.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain training equipment.

Player Development

Develop personalized training programs to enhance physical fitness, agility, and overall performance.
Guide players in improving technical and tactical aspects of the sport.
Motivate and mentor players to achieve their personal and professional goals in badminton.

Competitions & Events

Prepare players for tournaments at various levels, including local, state, and national.
Organize and oversee practice matches and intra-club competitions.
Foster a competitive and sportsmanlike attitude among players.

Facility & Equipment Management

Ensure that all training equipment and courts are maintained in good condition.
Follow and enforce safety guidelines to prevent injuries during training sessions.

Reporting & Administration

Maintain accurate attendance records and progress reports of players.
Provide regular updates to the management team regarding player development and coaching activities.
Assist in marketing and promotional efforts to grow the badminton program.

Qualifications For Head Coach:

Extensive experience as a professional badminton player or coach.
Proven track record in coaching and mentoring players at different levels.
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field (preferred).
Coaching certification from reputable badminton organizations (BWF, BAI, or equivalent).
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).

For Assistant Coach:

Prior experience in playing and coaching badminton.
Strong knowledge of badminton techniques and training methodologies.
Ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach and adapt to different training needs.
Coaching certification or willingness to obtain one.
Passion for coaching and developing players at all skill levels.
