Job Title: Tax Executive / Individual Contributor Role

Location: Bangalore

Shift: Night Shift (USA Client Coverage)

Reporting: SVP – Finance

We are seeking a highly seasoned, self-driven, and results-oriented candidate to join our Finance & Taxation team as a Junior-level individual contributor. This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of U.S. taxation including Federal, State, Local and Sales & Use Tax compliance, advance planning, payments, filings /reporting. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, a strategic mindset, and the ability to manage cross-functional collaborations to ensure full compliance with U.S. tax regulations.

This role demands a go-getter with excellent communication skills, strong analytical and logical thinking, and a high degree of professional integrity. The individual must be proactive, persuasive, and capable of working cross-functionally.

Federal State Tax & Local Tax

· Computation and payment of taxes under Federal, State and Local Tax on taxable services

· Lead preparation and review of U.S. federal, state and local income tax returns and filings.

· Manage quarterly and annual tax provision processes under ASC 740, including deferred tax calculations and FIN 48 analysis.

· Collaborate with external advisors to support tax compliance, audits, and technical research.

· Monitor legislative and regulatory tax developments; assess implications and develop response strategies.

Sales & Use Tax

· Oversee sales and use tax compliance by state, including accurate tax determination, return filing, and timely remittance across multiple jurisdictions.

· Maintain and improve tax engine configuration (e.g., Avalara, Vertex) and systems integration for accurate tax collection.

· Ensure proper documentation and exemption certificate management.

Strategic Tax Planning

· Lead U.S. tax planning initiatives to optimize tax positions while maintaining compliance.

· Advise business units on tax implications of transactions and operational changes.

· Support M&A activities, including due diligence, structuring, and integration.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s in Taxation or CPA preferred).

· 3+ years of relevant U.S. tax experience, preferably in a Big 4 firm or a multinational corporation.

· Strong understanding of U.S. tax law including federal income tax, state income/franchise tax, and sales & use tax.

· Hands-on experience with tax compliance software.

· Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience with SaaS or technology businesses.

· Exposure to international tax concepts is a plus.

· Familiarity with tax automation tools and process improvement methodologies.
