Video Editor & Social Media Executive
Krishak Jagat and Global Agriculture are looking for a fast and creative Video Editor & Social Media Executive who understands Hindi and English and has a strong understanding of social media trends.
The primary responsibility of this role is to discover viral and newsworthy videos on Twitter/X and other social media platforms, turn them into engaging content, edit videos quickly, and publish them across our social media channels.
The candidate should have a newsroom mindset combined with strong short-form video editing skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and other social media platforms to identify viral, trending and newsworthy videos.
- Identify videos relevant to agriculture, farmers, rural India, farm machinery, agri-tech, weather, government, food and other current developments.
- Find content that can be developed into news videos, viral videos, Reels and Shorts for Krishak Jagat.
- Quickly edit videos provided by the editorial team for social media.
- Watch long-form interviews, webinars, events and discussions and independently identify the best clips for Reels and Shorts.
- Create engaging 30–90 second short-form videos with strong hooks, captions, subtitles and relevant graphics.
- Edit content in both Hindi and English.
- Upload and publish videos on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter/X and other relevant platforms.
- Prepare suitable captions, headlines and hashtags for social media posts.
- Keep up with current viral formats, editing styles, trends, sounds and social media practices.
- Respond quickly to trending and breaking news where speed is important.
- Maintain an organised workflow so that videos can move quickly from discovery → editing → approval → publishing.
Mandatory Skills
- Excellent understanding of Hindi and English.
- Strong and fast video editing skills.
- Expert-level familiarity with Instagram Edits.
- Strong understanding of Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and other short-form formats.
- Ability to identify what is likely to perform well on social media.
- Strong understanding of current social media trends.
- Ability to work independently and find content without being given specific topics every day.
- Ability to understand a long-form video and identify its most important or engaging moments.
- Good understanding of captions, subtitles, hooks and short-form storytelling.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
The Most Important Part of the Job
This is not just a video editing job.
The candidate will be expected to spend a significant part of the day exploring Twitter/X and other social media platforms to find videos and stories that can become content for Krishak Jagat.
The ideal candidate should be able to see a trending video and quickly think:
What happened? Why is it relevant? Can we use this? How should we edit it? What should the headline be? Can it become a Reel?
The candidate should be able to take an idea from discovery to publication with minimal supervision.
Long-Form Video Responsibility
The candidate will also work on long-form content produced by Krishak Jagat and Global Agriculture, including:
- Interviews
- Expert conversations
- Conferences
- Panel discussions
- Webinars
- Events
- Video podcasts
They should be able to watch these videos, understand the context and identify multiple short clips that can be turned into Reels/Shorts.
Ideal Candidate
- 1–3 years of experience in video editing, digital media, social media or a newsroom.
- Has a strong portfolio of Reels/Shorts.
- Extremely comfortable with fast-turnaround editing.
- Naturally follows social media and knows what is trending.
- Has a strong visual sense and understands what makes people stop scrolling.
- Can work independently without requiring detailed instructions for every video.
- Has an interest in agriculture, news, current affairs and rural India.
- Journalism or digital newsroom experience will be an advantage.

The person joining this role should help Krishak Jagat and Global Agriculture become faster and more active on social media while consistently finding and creating content that people want to watch and share.
Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
