Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to manage day-to-day production activities on CNC, VMC, and VTL machines. The candidate will be responsible for achieving production targets, maintaining quality standards, ensuring optimum machine utilization, managing manpower, and implementing safe and efficient manufacturing practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise daily production activities as per the production plan.
- Operate/oversee production on CNC, VMC, and VTL machines.
- Ensure production targets are achieved within the specified time and quality requirements.
- Allocate operators and manpower according to machine loading and production priorities.
- Monitor machine utilization, cycle time, productivity, rejection, and downtime.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, process sheets, and work instructions.
- Ensure correct machine setting, tooling, fixtures, offsets, and cutting parameters.
- Coordinate with the Quality, Maintenance, PPC, Tool Room, and Stores departments.
- Monitor first-piece inspection and ensure in-process quality checks are carried out.
- Control rejection, rework, tool consumption, and material wastage.
- Troubleshoot basic machining and production-related problems.
- Ensure proper use and availability of cutting tools, gauges, fixtures, and consumables.
- Maintain production reports, shift reports, downtime records, rejection reports, and other documentation.
- Ensure machines, tools, and work areas are maintained in good condition.
- Implement 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies.
- Train and guide CNC/VMC/VTL operators and junior production staff.
- Conduct shift handovers and communicate production issues to the concerned departments.
- Support preventive maintenance activities and report machine abnormalities promptly.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of CNC turning, VMC, and VTL machining processes.
- Knowledge of CNC machine setting, tool offset, work offset, and basic program understanding.
- Ability to read 2D engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments such as Vernier, micrometer, bore gauge, height gauge, etc.
- Understanding of cutting tools, inserts, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters.
- Knowledge of production planning and manpower management.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, TPM, and Lean Manufacturing.
- Basic computer knowledge, including MS Excel and production reporting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-management skills.

Preferred Experience
