MIG/TIG Welder – Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and reliable MIG/TIG Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in metal fabrication, welding, and reading blueprints while maintaining high-quality workmanship and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on steel, aluminum, and stainless steel materials
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding specifications
- Prepare, cut, grind, and fit metal components before welding
- Inspect welded surfaces and structures to ensure quality and accuracy
- Operate welding equipment and other fabrication tools safely
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow workplace safety procedures and company standards
- Repair and rework defective welds when required
- Assist with general shop and fabrication duties as needed
Requirements
- Previous experience as a MIG/TIG Welder or similar role
- Ability to read technical drawings and measurements accurately
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Knowledge of welding safety procedures and equipment maintenance
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- CWB certification is an asset (if applicable)
- Forklift or overhead crane experience is an asset
