Job Description: Salesperson - Household and Department Section (Supermarket)
Position Overview: We are looking for a customer-oriented and enthusiastic Salesperson to join our team in the Household and Department Section of our supermarket. As a Salesperson, you will be responsible for assisting customers, providing product information, and driving sales in the household and department sections. Your goal will be to create a positive shopping experience for our customers while achieving sales targets and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Assistance: Greet customers warmly and provide assistance in a friendly and professional manner. Offer guidance, product knowledge, and recommendations based on customer needs. Assist with locating products and answer any questions they may have.
Sales Generation: Actively engage with customers to promote products and drive sales. Utilize effective selling techniques, such as upselling and cross-selling, to increase average transaction value. Stay updated on current promotions, discounts, and special offers and communicate them to customers.
Product Knowledge: Develop a strong understanding of the household and department products available in the supermarket. Stay informed about new product arrivals, features, and benefits. Be able to provide accurate and detailed information to customers to assist them in making informed purchasing decisions.
Merchandising and Stock Management: Ensure shelves are well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing. Monitor inventory levels and communicate any stock shortages or discrepancies to the supervisor. Participate in regular stock counts and assist with restocking products as needed.
Customer Service: Prioritize customer satisfaction by addressing customer concerns, resolving complaints, and handling returns or exchanges efficiently. Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor at all times, fostering a positive shopping environment
Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the household and department sections, including product displays, aisles, and checkout areas. Follow all safety guidelines and ensure compliance with health and sanitation standards.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience. Assist with training new team members and share product knowledge and selling techniques to enhance overall team performance.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 3 yeas experience in a retail sales or customer service role is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Strong product knowledge of household and department products, including their features and usage.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to changing customer needs.
- Basic computer skills for operating the POS system and accessing product information.
