Role Overview
We are seeking a Business Development Executive (BDE) Intern who is eager to learn and develop expertise in international sales, lead generation, client communication, proposal writing, and sales process management.
During the internship, the selected candidate will gain hands-on experience working on freelance platforms such as Upwork and other lead-generation channels. The role offers practical exposure to the complete sales lifecycle, from lead identification and client communication to project onboarding.
Weekly and monthly performance targets will be assigned to help candidates develop a results-driven mindset and prepare for a successful career in business development.
High-performing interns may be considered for a full-time Business Development Executive position upon successful completion of the internship.
Work Schedule & Flexibility
- Standard working hours: 10:30 AM – 8:00 PM IST.
- The role may require flexibility based on client meetings and business requirements.
- After 6:30PM, Work-from-home flexibility is subject to business requirements, scheduled meetings, and reporting manager approval.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to inbound leads and client inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Schedule and coordinate discovery meetings with prospective clients.
- Attend client meetings and requirement-gathering calls, primarily alongside the CEO, to understand project needs, business goals, and expectations.
- Prepare and share detailed Minutes of Meeting (MOM) after each client discussion.
- Create and maintain project scope documents based on client requirements and discussions.
- Update CRM records and maintain accurate documentation of all client interactions and opportunities.
- Coordinate with Project Managers and technical teams to obtain project estimates, timelines, and solution recommendations.
- Draft client communications, proposals, and Scope of Work (SOW) documents and obtain necessary approvals before sharing them with clients.
- Schedule follow-up meetings and send timely reminders to clients to ensure smooth communication and engagement.
- Participate in follow-up discussions with clients and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and move opportunities forward.
- Revise and update project scopes, proposals, estimates, and SOW documents based on client feedback and ongoing discussions.
- Manage the proposal approval process, including document sharing, negotiations, obtaining approvals, and securing signed agreements.
- Facilitate a smooth handover of signed projects to the Project Management team by introducing the client and sharing all relevant project documentation.
- Coordinate the invoicing process by sharing milestone invoices and recurring payment invoices with clients as required.
- Maintain professional client relationships throughout the project lifecycle and support payment follow-ups when necessary.
- Identify upselling opportunities and Change Request (CR) requirements within existing accounts.
- Coordinate with Delivery Managers (DMs) and Project Managers (PMs) to obtain budget and timeline approvals for CRs and additional work.
- Participate in client discussions related to account growth, upselling opportunities, and Change Requests, and support the closure of approved opportunities.
- Ensure a seamless client experience from lead generation through project onboarding and account expansion.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (completed or currently pursuing).
- Strong interest in Business Development, IT Sales, Client Acquisition, or International Sales.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of Upwork or other freelance platforms is preferred.
- Ability to understand client requirements and respond professionally.
- Strong learning attitude, self-motivation, and proactive approach.
- Comfortable communicating with international clients and working across different time zones.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and CRM tools is an advantage.

Full-Time Conversion Opportunity
Upon successful completion of the 3-month internship, candidates may be offered a full-time Business Development Executive role with a salary package ranging from ₹40,000 to ₹50,000 per month, based on internship performance, demonstrated skills, and business requirements.
