Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Senior Captain to oversee front-of-house operations and lead the service team at Kohi Cafe, Mohali.
The Senior Captain will be responsible for ensuring smooth floor operations, maintaining service quality, managing guest interactions, coordinating with the kitchen and management team, and guiding Captains and service staff.
The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, excellent knowledge of restaurant and café operations, and a genuine passion for hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day front-of-house operations.
- Lead and guide Captains, Senior Stewards, Stewards, and other service staff.
- Ensure high standards of guest service and hospitality.
- Welcome guests and ensure a smooth and personalized dining experience.
- Monitor table allocation, order taking, food service, and table turnover.
- Coordinate closely with the kitchen, bar, and management team.
- Ensure food and beverages are served accurately, efficiently, and professionally.
- Monitor the presentation and quality of food and beverages before serving.
- Handle guest feedback, requests, and complaints professionally.
- Resolve service issues promptly and escalate major concerns to management.
- Conduct team briefings and communicate daily updates, specials, and operational requirements.
- Train and mentor junior service staff.
- Monitor staff grooming, punctuality, discipline, and service standards.
- Ensure dining areas, tables, service stations, and guest areas are clean and properly maintained.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and service standards.
- Monitor service supplies and coordinate replenishment when required.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Support management with daily operational requirements and special events.
- Help maintain the premium ambience and service standards of Kohi Cafe.
Requirements
- 3–6 years of experience in a café, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment.
- Previous experience as a Senior Captain, Captain, Restaurant Supervisor, or similar supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage service.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a front-of-house team.
- Excellent communication and guest-handling skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Professional, confident, and well-groomed personality.
- Ability to remain calm and effective during busy service periods.
- Strong attention to detail and service quality.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with kitchen and management teams.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, weekends, and holidays.
