US Insurance Underwriter
Job Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical US Insurance Underwriter to assess and evaluate insurance risks for businesses and individuals. The role involves reviewing applications, analyzing risk factors, determining coverage terms, and ensuring policies align with underwriting guidelines and regulatory standards. This position supports US operations and requires working night shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Assessment
Review insurance applications, financial records, claims history, and supporting documents to evaluate risk exposure and eligibility.
Underwriting Decisions
Approve, modify, or decline insurance applications based on underwriting guidelines, company policies, and risk appetite.
Premium Evaluation
Assess risk factors and determine appropriate premiums, coverage limits, deductibles, and policy terms.
Policy Structuring
Develop suitable insurance coverage solutions, including endorsements, exclusions, and policy conditions.
Client & Broker Communication
Coordinate with agents, brokers, and clients to obtain required information, resolve discrepancies, and communicate underwriting decisions.
Collaboration
Work closely with claims teams, risk analysts, and other departments to ensure accurate underwriting and policy issuance.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure underwriting practices comply with US insurance regulations and internal company standards.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate underwriting records, reports, and policy documentation.
Portfolio Management
Monitor existing accounts, review policy renewals, analyze claims trends, and recommend risk adjustments when necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- 2–3 years of underwriting experience preferred
- Experience in commercial or general insurance underwriting is an advantage
- Professional certifications such as CPCU or AU are a plus
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
- Understanding of insurance principles and risk evaluation
- Knowledge of US insurance regulations and compliance standards
- Ability to interpret reports, financial data, and claims history
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and underwriting software
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
