The Project Manager – Mechanical is responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and successfully completing mechanical projects within approved timelines, budget, quality, and safety standards. The role involves managing site execution, coordinating with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams, and ensuring smooth project delivery.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Execution
- Plan and manage mechanical project activities from initiation to completion.
- Prepare project schedules, manpower planning, and resource allocation.
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of milestones.
- Coordinate installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
Site Management
- Supervise site execution activities related to piping, equipment erection, HVAC, utility systems, fabrication, and installation works.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Resolve technical and operational issues at site.
Client & Vendor Coordination
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding project execution.
- Coordinate with consultants, vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Conduct project review meetings and provide status updates.
Cost & Budget Control
- Monitor project costs and ensure work execution within approved budgets.
- Review material consumption, productivity, and project expenses.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and minimize wastage.
Safety & Quality Compliance
- Ensure implementation of EHS and quality standards at site.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox meetings.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and client safety requirements.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports.
- Maintain project documentation including work orders, billing records, variation orders, and completion reports.
- Verify contractor bills and client billing submissions.
Team Management
- Lead and motivate engineers, supervisors, and site staff.
- Monitor workforce productivity and discipline.
- Provide technical guidance and training to team members.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering.
- PMP certification will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 8–15 years of experience in mechanical project execution.
- Experience in industrial, infrastructure, semiconductor, EPC, HVAC, piping, utility, or construction projects preferred.
- Strong experience in handling site execution and client coordination.
