Job Summary: An operations manager typically oversees the overall administrative operations, ensuring efficient functioning aligned with the hospital’s mission and healthcare regulations. The job description includes leadership, operational management, policy implementation, staff supervision, and enhancing patient care quality.
Key Responsibility:
Operations & Facility Management:
- · Monitor daily attendance, leave approvals, OT, create shift schedules, and manage manpower allocation on their absence. Conduct a performance review by monitoring and documenting nursing care activities.
- · Oversee the overall administration of the hospital premises, including OPD, day-care surgery unit, diagnostics, wards, staff facilities, and support services specific to a hospital (waiting areas, screening rooms).
- · Manage facility services: housekeeping, security, catering/cafeteria, laundry, waste management (including biomedical waste), utilities (power, water, HVAC), and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and infrastructure.
- · Ensure the hospital’s physical environment is maintained to required standards: cleanliness, safety, patient comfort, and signage/navigation.
- · Liaise with vendors and service providers: negotiate contracts, ensure service level agreements (SLAs), monitor vendor performance, control costs, and handle renewals of maintenance contracts (for example, equipment support and sterilization services).
- · Coordinate with clinical and diagnostics teams to ensure non-clinical support services align with patient flow, screening camps, surgery schedules, and ocular outreach programs.
- · Manage day-to-day administrative operations, ensure smooth patient flow, coordinate with medical teams, monitor key performance indicators including patient volume and financial metrics, and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations.
Patient Experience & Support Services
- Ensure that non-clinical services contribute to excellent patient experience—including ease of navigation in the hospital, cleanliness, timely catering/waiting area comfort, security and visitor services.
- Oversee signage and accessibility features, especially for patients (large print directions, guides for visually impaired patients).
- Address escalated complaints related to non-clinical services (housekeeping, security, catering) and ensure swift resolution for patient satisfaction.
- Should have basic knowledge in electrical, AC, and plumbing.
- Should have basic knowledge in fire extinguisher and emergency evacuation protocols.
- Maintains motors, pump sets, and round-the-clock UPS supply.
Qualification:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospital Administration, Facility Management, or equivalent.
· A master's degree (MBA/MHA) or professional certification in hospital administration/healthcare management.
Experience:
1. Overall: 15 years of experience in hospital administration/facilities management in a healthcare setting, supervisory or managerial role overseeing non-clinical services.
2. Relevant: minimum 5-10 years of experience in a multispecialty hospital; familiarity with outpatient/diagnostic/surgery workflows; strong knowledge of facility services, vendor management, administrative operations, and compliance in a healthcare/hospital context.
3. Age: 35-45 years.
4. Experience in managing facility services: housekeeping, security, catering, utilities, vendor contracts, and maintenance of building/infrastructure in a hospital environment.
5. Experience in coordinating with clinical departments (like ophthalmology, diagnostics, and day-care surgery) so that support/administrative services align with the patient flow and service delivery.
6. Experience in budget/administration cost control for non-clinical operations of a hospital, vendor performance monitoring, and SLA management.

1. Communication: Clear and effective communication with hospital staff, doctors, patients, and external stakeholders are essential for smooth operations and patient satisfaction.

1. Hospital Administration Knowledge: Expertise in hospital management systems, clinical and non-clinical service coordination, compliance with NABH standards, and healthcare regulations.
2. Financial Acumen: Budget management, resource allocation, procurement, and cost-control skills tailored to hospital operations.
3. Quality Management: Implementing and monitoring quality assurance, safety protocols, and patient-centered care.
4. Information Systems: Proficiency in hospital information systems (HIS), electronic medical record management, and data security.
5. Marketing and Outreach: Planning and executing patient engagement campaigns, community outreach programs, and hospital branding.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
