Job Description – QHSE Engineer

Position Overview
We are looking for a qualified and experienced QHSE Engineer with strong exposure to oil & gas projects and skid-based plant manufacturing environments. The candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental systems within fabrication shops and project sites, ensuring compliance with international standards, client specifications, and statutory regulations.
Key Responsibilities – Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC)
· Implement and maintain QHSE management systems in fabrication and manufacturing operations.
· Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
· Review fabrication drawings, ITPs, QAPs, WPS/PQR, and inspection procedures.
· Coordinate stage-wise inspections for skid fabrication, piping, structural works, pressure vessels, and assemblies.
· Conduct incoming material inspections and maintain traceability records.
· Coordinate with third-party inspection agencies and client inspectors.
· Monitor welding quality, NDT activities, hydrotesting, painting, and final documentation.
· Prepare NCRs, corrective actions, root cause analysis, and quality reports.
Key Responsibilities – Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
· Ensure safe work practices within fabrication shops and project sites.
· Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and risk assessments.
· Monitor compliance with PTW (Permit to Work) systems and safety procedures.
· Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and hazard identification exercises.
· Investigate incidents, near misses, and recommend preventive actions.
· Ensure compliance with PPE requirements and environmental regulations.
· Maintain emergency preparedness and response procedures.
Documentation & Compliance
· Maintain QHSE records, reports, calibration certificates, inspection reports, and audit documentation.
· Coordinate internal and external audits.
· Ensure compliance with client specifications, ADNOC/ARAMCO/SHELL standards (preferred), and local statutory requirements.
· Prepare monthly QHSE performance reports and KPIs.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Safety, or related field.
· Additional certifications in NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, ASNT, CSWIP, or Lead Auditor are preferred.
Experience Required
· 4–8 years of experience in Oil & Gas industries.
· Minimum 3 years of experience in skid-based process equipment manufacturing/fabrication shops.
· Experience in modular skid packages, piping systems, tanks, structural fabrication, and process modules.
· Experience in EPC/project environments is preferred.
Required Skills
· Strong knowledge of fabrication quality standards and inspection procedures.
· Knowledge of welding inspections, NDT methods, hydrotesting, and coating inspections.
· Good understanding of HSE regulations and risk management.
· Familiarity with ISO standards and documentation systems.
· Ability to coordinate with clients, vendors, inspectors, and shop teams.
· Strong communication and reporting skills.
· Proficiency in MS Office and quality documentation tools.
