Orthopedic Doctor – Job Responsibilities
An Orthopedic Doctor (Bone & Joint Specialist) is responsible for diagnosing and treating disorders related to bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Consultation & Diagnosis
- Examine patients with bone, joint, and muscle problems
- Diagnose fractures, arthritis, spine disorders, sports injuries, etc.
- Prescribe and interpret X-rays, MRI, CT scan, and other investigations
- Treatment Planning
- Provide non-surgical treatment (medication, plaster, injections, physiotherapy advice)
- Perform minor procedures like casting and joint injections
- Plan surgical management when required
- Surgical Responsibilities
- Perform orthopedic surgeries (fracture fixation, joint replacement, arthroscopy, spine surgery, etc.)
- Pre-operative and post-operative patient management
- Handle emergency trauma cases
- Ward & Rounds
- Daily ward rounds for admitted patients
- Monitor recovery and modify treatment plans
- Emergency Care
- Attend trauma and accident cases
- Provide immediate stabilization and treatment
- Documentation
- Maintain proper patient records
- Complete medico-legal documentation if required
- Coordination
- Work with physiotherapists, nursing staff, OT team, and other specialists
- Guide junior doctors and interns
- Hospital Protocol Compliance
- Follow hospital policies and NABH standards
- Ensure infection control practices
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per month
