An F&B Team Leader oversees daily dining operations, supervises service staff, and ensures exceptional guest experiences. Acting as the bridge between management and the floor team, they manage shift workflows, handle customer inquiries, and maintain high standards of quality, hygiene, and health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Shift Management: Oversee the setup, daily operations, and breakdown of the restaurant, bar, or event space. Run shifts and delegate tasks efficiently in the absence of the Outlet Manager.
- Team Leadership & Training: Coach and motivate the service team. Provide hands-on training, manage shift scheduling, and assist with staff performance appraisals.
- Guest Satisfaction: Proactively interact with guests to ensure expectations are exceeded. Address and resolve customer feedback and complaints professionally.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with brand standards, food safety regulations, and alcohol licensing laws. Maintain impeccable hygiene standards across all F&B areas.
- Inventory & Cost Control: Monitor stock levels, rotate inventory, and assist managers in minimizing wastage. Oversee billing and cashiering procedures during the shift.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Typically 1–3 years of experience in the hospitality or food and beverage sector, with prior supervisory or team-leading experience preferred.
- Skills: Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and multitasking abilities. Must possess strong knowledge of food service standards and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Certifications: Valid food handler's permit, alcohol serving certification (e.g., TIPS or relevant local equivalent), and basic first aid training may be required depending on your region.
