Job Role & Responsibilities
The Ecologist – Biodiversity Expert will be responsible for ecological assessments, biodiversity planning, and
implementation support for conservation and restoration projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct biodiversity assessments, baseline surveys, and ecological studies
- Identify flora and fauna species, including native, endemic, rare, and endangered species
- Support habitat restoration, urban biodiversity, mangrove, and forest projects
- Prepare ecological reports, biodiversity management plans, and monitoring frameworks
- Assist in project planning with science-based ecological inputs
- Coordinate with project teams, government bodies, and consultants
- Ensure compliance with environmental guidelines and best practices
- Support documentation, presentations, and reporting to stakeholders
- Participate in site visits, field surveys, and monitoring activities
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Zoology, Botany, Biodiversity Conservation, or
a related field
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of biodiversity conservation and ecological principles
- Experience in field surveys, species identification, and data analysis
- Knowledge of urban ecology, forest ecosystems, mangroves, or wetlands
- Ability to prepare technical and non-technical reports
- Familiarity with MS Office; experience with GIS/tools will be an added advantage
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Prior experience in NGO / CSR / conservation projects preferred

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
