Job title: Nursing In-charge
Reporting to: Nursing Supervisor
Roles & Responsibilities:
The Nursing In charge is responsible for the overall supervision, coordination, and management of nursing services in the Oncology and Multi-Department units. The role ensures delivery of high-quality patient care, adherence to clinical protocols, and efficient utilization of resources.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
2.1 Patient Care Management
· Ensure delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centred nursing care.
· Monitor patient condition and ensure timely intervention.
· Supervise medication administration as per physician orders.
· Maintain accurate and complete patient records and documentation.
· Respond promptly to medical emergencies.
2.2 Staff Management & Supervision
· Supervise nursing staff across all assigned departments.
· Prepare and manage duty rosters and shift allocations.
· Conduct staff performance evaluations and provide guidance.
· Facilitate orientation and ongoing training of nursing personnel.
· Promote discipline, teamwork, and professional conduct.
2.3 Oncology-Specific Responsibilities
· Ensure safe preparation and administration of chemotherapy.
· Monitor patients for adverse reactions and complications.
· Implement infection control measures for immune compromised patients.
· Provide education and counselling to patients and families regarding cancer care.
2.4 Multi-Department Coordination
· Coordinate nursing services across ICU, wards, OPD, and emergency units.
· Facilitate smooth patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
· Maintain effective communication with doctors and allied healthcare staff.
2.5 Quality Assurance & Compliance
· Ensure compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory standards.
· Participate in audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives.
· Enforce infection control practices and patient safety guidelines.
2.6 Inventory & Resource Management:
· Monitor availability of medicines, equipment, and consumables.
· Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of medical equipment.
· Coordinate with pharmacy and stores for timely supply.
2.7 Patient & Attendant Relations:
· Address patient and family concerns in a professional manner.
· Ensure patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
· Provide emotional support, particularly in oncology cases.
3. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
· B.Sc. Nursing / GNM from a recognized institution
· Valid Nursing Registration Certificate
· Minimum 3–7 years of clinical experience
· Experience in oncology or multi-specialty hospital preferred
· Prior supervisory experience desirable

· Accountable for nursing care quality in assigned departments
· Authorized to assign duties and supervise nursing staff
· Responsible for maintaining discipline and reporting issues
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
