Full job description

A bartender mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers in a bar, restaurant, or other establishment. They are responsible for taking drink orders, preparing drinks according to recipes or customer requests, serving drinks, and collecting payments. Bartenders also maintain a clean and organized bar area, manage inventory, and ensure responsible alcohol service. Key Responsibilities:

Mixing and Serving Drinks:Preparing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beer, wine, and other drinks, following standard recipes or customer requests.
Customer Interaction:Greeting customers, taking drink orders, providing recommendations, and ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience.
Age Verification:Checking identification to ensure that customers are of legal drinking age.
Bar Management:Maintaining a clean and organized bar area, stocking supplies, and managing inventory of drinks, glassware, and other bar essentials.
Payment Handling:Processing payments, handling cash transactions, and providing receipts.
Responsible Alcohol Service:Monitoring customers' alcohol consumption and ensuring responsible service to prevent over-intoxication.
Maintaining a Safe Environment:Ensuring the bar area is clean, safe, and organized, adhering to sanitation and safety procedures.
Upselling and Suggesting Items:Recommending drinks, food, or other items to enhance the customer experience and increase sales.
Inventory Management:Tracking inventory, placing orders for supplies, and managing stock levels.
Teamwork:Collaborating with other staff members, such as servers or kitchen staff, to ensure smooth service and a positive customer experience.

Skills and Qualifications:

Mixology Skills: Knowledge of various drink recipes, ingredients, and techniques for preparing cocktails and other beverages.
Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Product Knowledge: Understanding of different types of alcohol, mixers, garnishes, and bar equipment.
Speed and Efficiency: Ability to work quickly and efficiently, especially during peak hours.
Cleanliness and Organization: Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe bar environment.
Cash Handling and Math Skills: Accurately handling cash transactions and making change.
Ability to Stand for Extended Periods: Bartenders often work long shifts on their feet.
Adaptability: Being able to handle a fast-paced environment and unexpected situations.
Teamwork and Collaboration: Working effectively with other team members.
