Job Summary:

The Commodity Trader, with a specific focus on CCL (Central Coalfields Limited) and NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation Limited) related commodities, will be responsible for developing and executing trading strategies for coal and other energy-related products within the Indian market. This role requires deep market understanding, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage risk effectively while optimizing profitability. The trader will engage in both physical and financial trading, building relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring compliance with market regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and manage proprietary trading strategies for coal, power, and other energy commodities, with a specific emphasis on the Indian market dynamics related to CCL and NTPC.
Conduct comprehensive fundamental and technical analysis of global and domestic commodity markets, including supply-demand balances, price drivers, geopolitical factors, and regulatory changes impacting the energy sector.
Monitor and analyze market trends, news, and economic indicators to identify trading opportunities and assess potential risks.
Execute trades efficiently and effectively, managing positions and exposure within established risk limits and compliance guidelines.
Manage price risk through the use of various hedging instruments and strategies, ensuring portfolio stability and profitability.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key market participants, including producers (like CCL), consumers (like NTPC), brokers, and other trading counterparties.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms for physical and financial commodity transactions.
Collaborate closely with logistics, operations, finance, and legal teams to ensure seamless execution of trades and compliance with all contractual obligations.
Prepare detailed market reports, trade performance analyses, and risk assessments for senior management.
Stay abreast of regulatory developments and ensure all trading activities adhere to relevant market rules and internal policies.
Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and market segments within the commodity trading landscape.
