We are looking to engage retired IAS, IPS and IRS officers as Senior Consultants to provide high-level advisory services to clients across legal, taxation, financial, regulatory and government-related matters.
The core focus of this role will be Direct and Indirect Taxation, regulatory compliance, government procedures, dispute resolution, representation support and strategic advisory.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience of working within the Government of India / State Government and a strong understanding of tax administration, regulatory frameworks, statutory authorities, government processes and legal-financial matters.
Key Responsibilities1. Direct Taxation Advisory
- Provide strategic advisory on Income Tax, corporate taxation and other direct tax matters.
- Advise clients on tax planning, tax compliance and interpretation of applicable provisions.
- Provide guidance on Income Tax assessments, notices, appeals and departmental proceedings.
- Assist clients in developing appropriate responses to tax authorities.
- Provide strategic inputs on tax disputes and litigation matters.
- Advise on tax implications of business transactions, restructuring and investments.
2. Indirect Taxation Advisory
- Provide expert guidance on GST, Customs, Excise and other applicable indirect taxes.
- Advise on GST compliance, classification, valuation, input tax credit and taxability issues.
- Support clients in handling GST notices, audits, assessments, investigations and departmental proceedings.
- Provide strategic guidance relating to Customs and import/export taxation matters.
- Assist in interpretation of complex indirect tax provisions and government notifications/circulars.
3. Government & Regulatory Advisory
- Advise clients on interaction with Central and State Government departments and regulatory authorities.
- Provide strategic guidance on government procedures, approvals, registrations and statutory matters.
- Assist clients in understanding regulatory requirements and government policies.
- Leverage professional experience and institutional knowledge to guide clients through complex government processes.
4. Legal & Dispute Advisory
- Provide strategic inputs on legal and regulatory disputes, particularly those involving taxation and government authorities.
- Review tax-related notices, orders, correspondence and regulatory communications.
- Guide the internal legal/tax team on appropriate strategies for handling departmental matters.
- Coordinate, where required, with advocates, Chartered Accountants, tax professionals and other domain experts.
5. Client Advisory & Business Development
- Participate in meetings with key corporate clients, promoters, HNIs and business groups.
- Understand complex client issues and provide high-level strategic solutions.
- Conduct senior-level consultations on taxation, regulatory and government-related matters.
- Support the company in developing new tax advisory, regulatory consulting and government liaison assignments.
- Participate in seminars, client meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions as a subject-matter expert.
Preferred Profile
- Retired IRS / IAS / IPS officer with substantial experience in government administration, taxation, revenue, enforcement, regulatory or related areas.
- IRS officers with experience in Income Tax, GST, Customs, Central Excise or related taxation departments will be particularly preferred.
- IAS officers with experience in Finance, Revenue, Taxation, Industries, Commerce, Urban Development, Regulatory Affairs or senior administrative positions will be considered.
- IPS officers with experience in economic offences, financial crimes, investigation, enforcement or regulatory matters may also be considered.
- Strong understanding of Indian taxation and government regulatory systems.
- Excellent analytical, advisory and communication skills.
- Ability to deal with senior corporate management and high-value clients.
- Strong professional credibility and sound understanding of government procedures.

Engagement Model
The engagement may be structured on a consultancy / retainer / project-based basis, depending upon the candidate's profile, area of expertise and client requirements.

Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per month
