About the Team

The Corporate Security team is responsible for the security and protection of all OpenAI employees and executives. We are committed to creating and maintaining a secure environment that allows our team members to focus on their work without fear of harm or disruption.

About the Role

As the Corporate Security Operations Manager for India, you will lead day-to-day corporate and physical security operations for our India office presence, ensuring a safe, discreet, and professional security environment within a high-trust, high-confidentiality technology setting. Reporting to the APAC Security Manager, you will serve as the primary security point of contact in India—balancing strong risk management with a calm, service-oriented approach while partnering closely with employees, cross-functional stakeholders, and external partners.

You will play an important role in operationalizing OpenAI’s global security standards locally while supporting the continued development of our security capabilities in India.

In this role, you will:
Operationalize the India office physical security program, including access control, visitor management, incident response, and general office security operations as our presence in India evolves.

Manage security vendors and contract guard forces, including post orders, performance standards, coverage, SLAs/KPIs, and operational improvements.

Partner closely with Workplace/Facilities, HR, IT/InfoSec, Legal, and office leadership to implement sensible and employee-friendly security controls.

Lead local incident response and follow-through, including documentation, after-action reviews, and corrective actions.

Support security planning for in-office events, leadership visits, and business travel into or out of India as required.

Monitor the local risk environment and supporting security readiness through emergency preparedness planning, evacuation procedures, and coordination with Workplace teams.

Liaise closely with APAC regional security management and, as appropriate; other CorpSec pillars to manage risk, events and travel.

You might thrive in this role if you have:
8–10 years of experience in corporate security, protective services, law enforcement, military, or related fields, with increasing responsibility.

Proven experience leading physical security operations within a corporate office environment, ideally in technology or other high-confidentiality industries.

Demonstrated experience managing security vendors and guard force operations, including performance oversight and operational standards.

Strong incident management and operational response experience, including documentation and after-action improvement.

Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.

Professional/business-level English (written and spoken), including the ability to produce clear reports and communicate with global teams. Hindi and other local language capabilities are strongly preferred to effectively manage vendors, building management, and local authorities.

Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage sensitive issues with professionalism and confidentiality.

Experience working within global organizations and collaborating across time zones.

A strong ethical foundation and commitment to OpenAI’s mission and values.

Workplace & Location

This role is based in Delhi, India. Travel within India and across the APAC region is required to support security initiatives and collaboration with regional teams.
