Position: Physiotherapist
Department: Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation
Reports To: Medical Superintendent
Location: MAGJ Hospital, Angamaly

Job Summary

The Physiotherapist is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing physiotherapy treatments to restore, maintain, and promote optimal physical function, mobility, and overall well-being of patients. The role involves working closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care and rehabilitation outcomes.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties

Assess patients' physical conditions, functional abilities, and rehabilitation needs.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment findings.
Administer physiotherapy interventions including exercise therapy, manual therapy, electrotherapy, and rehabilitation programs.
Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as required.
Educate patients and caregivers regarding treatment plans, exercises, and preventive measures.
Maintain accurate and timely patient records and treatment documentation.
Assist in post-operative rehabilitation and recovery programs.
Provide physiotherapy services for inpatients and outpatients.

Patient Care & Safety

Ensure patient safety during all physiotherapy procedures.
Follow hospital infection control and safety protocols.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Participate in patient education and health promotion activities.

Administrative Responsibilities

Maintain physiotherapy equipment and report any malfunction or maintenance requirements.
Prepare daily treatment records and departmental reports.
Coordinate with consultants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient care.
Participate in departmental meetings, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) / Master of Physiotherapy (MPT).
Valid registration with the State Physiotherapy Council (if applicable).
Freshers and experienced candidates may apply.

Skills Required

Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Good documentation and reporting skills.
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.

Working Hours

As per hospital duty schedule.
Weekend and holiday duties as assigned.
