Job Summary
The Cardiology Technician is responsible for performing non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures, preparing patients for cardiac tests, maintaining cardiac diagnostic equipment, and assisting cardiologists in delivering safe and accurate patient care. The role requires adherence to clinical protocols, infection control practices, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform ECG (Electrocardiogram) tests accurately.
- Conduct TMT (Treadmill Test) under physician supervision.
- Assist in Echocardiography procedures.
- Apply and remove Holter and Ambulatory Blood Pressure (ABPM) monitors.
- Prepare patients for cardiac diagnostic procedures and explain test instructions.
- Record, label, and upload diagnostic reports into the hospital information system.
- Monitor patients during diagnostic procedures and report abnormalities immediately.
- Prepare and maintain cardiac diagnostic equipment and ensure calibration.
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality.
- Follow infection prevention and biomedical waste management protocols.
- Maintain inventory of consumables used in the cardiology department.
- Assist during emergency cardiac situations as directed by the physician.
- Coordinate with nurses, physicians, and other departments for patient care.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Cardiac Care Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or Allied Health Sciences.
- ECG/TMT certification (if applicable).
- BLS certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of hospital information systems is an advantage.
Experience
- 0–2 years: Entry-level Cardiology Technician.
- 2–5 years: Experience in ECG, TMT, Holter monitoring, and assisting with Echocardiography preferred.
- Experience in a hospital or diagnostic center is desirable.
Skills Required
- Proficiency in ECG, TMT, Holter, and ABPM procedures.
- Understanding of basic cardiac anatomy and physiology.
- Ability to recognize critical cardiac rhythm abnormalities and escalate promptly.
- Good communication and patient-handling skills.
- Attention to detail and accurate documentation.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work in emergency and high-pressure environments.
- Teamwork and professional conduct.
Pay: ₹13,460.72 - ₹35,000.00 per month
