Full job description

Position: Electrical & Instrumentation TechnicianLocation: South Goa

Job Summary

The Electrical & Instrumentation Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure safe and efficient operation of plant and site equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, and control panels.
Calibrate and maintain field instruments such as pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters.
Monitor and maintain PLC-based control systems, sensors, actuators, and other automation equipment.
Diagnose faults in electrical and instrumentation systems and implement corrective actions.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and P&IDs.
Assist in commissioning, testing, and start-up activities of new equipment and systems.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures, electrical standards, and permit-to-work requirements.
Maintain maintenance records, calibration certificates, inspection reports, and equipment history.
Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to minimize equipment downtime and improve reliability.

Qualifications & Experience

ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics, or a related discipline.
Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance in industrial plants, construction projects, manufacturing units, or process industries.
Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, PLCs, and control systems.

Required Skills

Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding abilities.
Knowledge of industrial safety practices and electrical regulations.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and manuals.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.

Working Conditions

Site-based position located in South Goa, Goa.
May require shift duties, overtime, and emergency maintenance support.
Must comply with all company and site-specific safety requirements.
