http://www.talentformula.co/ is a consulting firm that offers outsourced financial and accounting Human Resources to Chartered Accounting firms worldwide. We currently have a Intermediate / Senior Accountant position available in our Carnegie accounting team.

Introduction:

We are hiring on behalf of Carnegie Financial Services, a well-established firm with over 30 years of expertise in accounting and financial advisory. Known for their personalized approach and innovative solutions, Carnegie’s team is dedicated to building long-term wealth for their clients through all stages of life. As part of their Property HUB, the Senior Accountant role offers a unique opportunity to work on complex property tax matters and investment structures while supporting Australia’s largest buyer’s agent network.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Prepare clear, professional client query emails for the manager to review and send. Ensure all relevant documentation is requested upfront to reduce follow-up delays
Tailor requests to client-specific circumstances (e.g. occupation-specific deductions, property ownership, trust distributions)
Prepare Individual Tax Returns with strong knowledge of deductions to ensure the best possible tax outcomes
Prepare Trust Tax Returns, particularly for property investment trusts
Prepare financial statements and Company Tax Returns for SMEs
Prepare well-organized workpapers to support all compliance work
Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) with accurate reporting of GST, PAYG withholding, and PAYG instalments
Identify any omissions in client-provided information (e.g. council rates were included last year but not provided this year) and add value where possible using your knowledge base
Apply advanced knowledge of allowable deductions, especially related to investment properties and occupation-based claims
One of our key selling points is an efficient turnaround on returns while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Staff must review client-provided information within 24 to 48 hours and advise if further information is needed, to ensure timely follow-up
Reconcile accounts and ensure all compliance obligations are met

Qualifications & Experience:

Fully Qualified or Semi-Qualified CA or a relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
3-5 years of professional experience in property tax, property investment structures, and overall tax compliance
1-2 years of direct experience in Australian property tax, specifically dealing with investment properties for individuals and trusts
Working knowledge and experience in Xero and Xero Practice Manager is essential. Experience in other finance software is good to have
Proficient in preparing tax returns for individuals, trusts, and SMEs
Adept at preparing financial statements, business activity statements, and workpapers for compliance work
Attention to Detail: Proven ability to identify missing information (e.g., council rates) and add value through thorough review and advisory
Time Management: Capable of reviewing client information and providing feedback within a 24–48-hour window
