BACKGROUND
The Hans Foundation (THF), established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works towards creating an equitable society to enhance quality of life for all through the empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged communities in India. The Hans Foundation works for the Health and Wellbeing of remote and under-served groups, with an additional focus on children, persons with disabilities and women. THF also works for holistic Education and Livelihood development of our communities. Our Two-Fold Strategy involves identifying and working within Aspirational Districts and high poverty index in the North, North-East and East regions within specific states, as well as catering to lower-income and migratory populations in cities, through urban programs.
Over its 15 years of existence, THF has reached more than 35 million beneficiaries through its programs. THF works with communities through direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organizations in India funded through THF USA and RIST.
PROJECT OVERVIEW: Hans Learning Bridge – Meghalaya
The Learning Bridge Meghalaya Project is a primary education intervention aimed at strengthening foundational learning outcomes among children through structured support in 8 government primary schools and 5 Community-Based Learning Centres (CBLCs). The project focuses on improving basic literacy, numeracy, attendance, and overall classroom engagement by introducing targeted learning support, trained facilitators, and community-based learning activities. It works closely with schools, teachers, and local communities to bridge learning gaps, enhance teaching quality, and ensure continuous academic support for children, especially those who are at risk of falling behind. Through regular monitoring, capacity building, and community participation, the project seeks to create a strong and inclusive learning environment that improves educational outcomes at the primary level in Meghalaya.

1. JOB PURPOSE
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the overall coordination, monitoring, implementation, and smooth operation of the Learning Bridge Meghalaya Project across 8 Primary Schools and 5 Community-Based Learning Centres (CBLCs). The role requires close supervision of educational activities, field operations, stakeholder coordination, reporting, and ensuring quality implementation of all project interventions related to primary education.
The Project Coordinator will work closely with school authorities, teachers, community stakeholders, tutors, and project staff to ensure effective delivery of learning outcomes and project objectives.
2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Project Implementation & Coordination

Ensure smooth and effective implementation of all project activities across 8 Primary Schools and 5 CBLCs.
- Coordinate regularly with school heads, teachers, tutors, and community stakeholders for proper execution of project plans.
- Monitor daily operations and ensure timely completion of planned activities.
- Support in planning monthly, quarterly, and annual project activities.
Monitoring & Supervision

Conduct regular field visits to schools and CBLCs for monitoring educational activities and operational processes.
- Review attendance, classroom engagement, teaching-learning processes, and student participation.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained in all centres and schools.
- Identify operational gaps and provide timely support and corrective measures.
Academic & Learning Support

Monitor implementation of primary education interventions and learning activities.
- Support tutors, mentors, and facilitators in improving classroom practices and student learning outcomes.
- Track student progress and maintain educational performance records.
- Ensure proper use of teaching-learning materials and educational resources.
Reporting & Documentation

Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly project reports.
- Maintain accurate records related to attendance, field visits, activities, and project progress.
- Document success stories, case studies, challenges, and field observations.
- Ensure timely sharing of project updates with management.
Stakeholder Engagement

Build strong coordination with schools, local communities, education department officials, and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate meetings, trainings, orientations, and review sessions.
- Address operational concerns raised by schools or communities in a timely manner.
Team Management & Support

Provide guidance and support to field staff, tutors, and CBLC facilitators.
- Ensure team coordination and effective communication among all project stakeholders.
- Support capacity-building initiatives for field teams and educators.
Compliance & Operational Management

Ensure project activities are implemented as per organizational guidelines and project timelines.
- Monitor proper utilization of project resources and infrastructure.
Ensure safeguarding, child protection, and organizational policies are followed at all times.

4. Other Indicative Requirements
Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Development Studies, Management, or related field.
- Master’s Degree will be preferred.
Functional / Technical Skills and Relevant Experience & Other requirements (Behavioural, Language, Certifications etc.)

Minimum 2–4 years of experience in project coordination, education projects, or community development programs.
- Experience working in primary education or NGO sector will be preferred.
- Experience in field monitoring and stakeholder coordination is desirable.
Skills & Competencies

- Ability to manage multiple schools/centres simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and team management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and report preparation.
