Job Summary
The Production Head will oversee daily manufacturing operations involving sheet metal stamping (press shop) and CNC/VMC machining in a factory setup. This is a hands-on role requiring direct supervision of press machines, tool handling, CNC operations, and shop floor coordination to achieve production targets with quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Execution
- Plan daily production based on customer orders and delivery schedules
- Manage press shop (stamping) and CNC/VMC machining activities
- Ensure timely completion of jobs with optimal machine utilization
2. Press Shop (Stamping) Management
- Oversee power press / hydraulic press operations
- Ensure proper die setting, alignment, and changeover
- Monitor production output, quality, and die performance
- Reduce rejection, burrs, and dimensional issues
3. CNC/VMC Operations
- Supervise CNC/VMC machining, setups, and tool selection
- Support operators in program selection and troubleshooting
- Monitor cycle times, tool wear, and machining accuracy
4. Tooling & Maintenance Coordination
- Ensure availability and proper maintenance of dies, punches, fixtures, and cutting tools
- Coordinate die repair and preventive maintenance
- Minimize breakdowns and downtime
5. Quality Control
- Ensure production as per drawings and tolerances
- Use measuring instruments (vernier, micrometer, gauges) for inspection
- Control rework and rejection levels
6. Manpower & Shop Floor Management
- Supervise operators, helpers, and machine setters
- Allocate manpower based on workload
- Maintain discipline, attendance, and productivity
7. Material & Inventory Control
- Coordinate with stores for raw material (sheet, coils, bars) and consumables
- Avoid shortages and overstocking
- Control scrap and wastage
8. Cost & Productivity Improvement
- Improve output with limited resources
- Reduce setup time, idle time, and material wastage
- Implement basic lean practices (5S, Kaizen)
9. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure safe operation of presses and machines
- Enforce PPE usage and safety practices
- Prevent accidents on shop floor
Pay: ₹42,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
