Job DescriptionPosition: Dean / Head of Department (Arts & Humanities)

Department: School of Arts & Humanities
Job Type: Full-time | Regular
Joining Date: Immediate

Minimum Qualifications & Experience :-

Ph.D. in Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Languages, Literature, Psychology, History, Political Science, Sociology, Journalism, Fine Arts, or a relevant discipline from a recognized university.
Master’s Degree in the relevant discipline is mandatory.
Minimum 12–18 years of experience in teaching, research, academic administration, or leadership roles in reputed universities/institutions.
Strong academic record with publications in reputed peer-reviewed journals, conferences, books, or other scholarly contributions.
Proven experience in academic leadership, curriculum development, accreditation processes, and faculty management.
Candidates must fulfill UGC norms as applicable.

Key Responsibilities :-

Provide academic and administrative leadership to the School/Department of Arts & Humanities.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance academic quality, student engagement, and institutional growth.
Oversee curriculum planning, revision, and implementation in line with contemporary academic and industry requirements.
Promote excellence in teaching, research, publications, innovation, and community engagement.
Lead faculty recruitment, mentoring, performance evaluation, and professional development initiatives.
Encourage interdisciplinary learning, research collaborations, and academic partnerships.
Supervise accreditation and quality assurance processes, including NAAC, NIRF, and other regulatory requirements.
Organize conferences, seminars, workshops, FDPs, cultural events, and academic outreach programs.
Foster industry-academia collaborations, internships, skill development initiatives, and career guidance activities.
Represent the department in university committees, academic councils, and external academic forums.

Desirable Qualifications & Skills :-

Strong understanding of academic governance, curriculum design, outcome-based education, and quality assurance frameworks.
Expertise in emerging trends within Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Media, Languages, and Interdisciplinary Studies.
Excellent leadership, communication, decision-making, and team management skills.
Ability to attract research projects, consultancy assignments, grants, and academic collaborations.
Experience with academic ERP systems, LMS platforms, and research databases.
Demonstrated ability to build a vibrant academic culture focused on innovation, creativity, and student success.

Pay Scale :-

₹40,000 – ₹80,000 per month
(Commensurate with qualifications, experience, and leadership capabilities)
