Full job description

Overview:

Synaptic is recruiting for their portfolio operations team that analyzes data collected by venture capital firms from their portfolio companies. We live and breathe startups, funding trends, and the venture capital industry. For anyone interested in learning how the Venture Capital industry interacts with startups, there is no better vantage point in the world.

Key Responsibilities:

●Ingest, analyze, and structure tens of thousands of unstructured data points spanning financials and key metrics.

●Carefully review company updates to interpret the significance of each metric and understand interconnections and nuances in their calculations.

●Generate innovative new ideas, benchmarks, and analyses which help VCs get more out of data.

●Refine processes for analysis, security, and compliance in conjunction with Synaptic’s engineers and product managers.

Requirements:

●Experience working with large financial data analysis teams and investors.

●Familiarity with accounting principles, financial modeling, reporting, and analysis.

●Deep understanding of key metrics used to measure startup performance based on industry, their definitions, calculations, and when to use them.

●MBA in finance and/or CFA L1 and above and/or CA is a plus.

●The candidate should be a quick learner and should be up to date with current technology trends. We solve complex, completely new problems in the financial domain and this requires someone who is not intimidated by challenges, thrives under pressure, and is hyper-focused on delivering exceptional results.

Experience:

● Candidates with ~2 years of professional experience dealing with financial data, especially of institutional investors, are preferred.
