Full job description

A Duty Medical Officer (DMO) provides 24/7 clinical care, managing inpatient/outpatient treatment, emergency responses, and medical documentation within a hospital. They act as the primary doctor on duty, performing clinical evaluations, initiating treatments, and coordinating with consultants. Key requirements include an MBBS or equivalent degree and valid medical council registration.

Core Responsibilities

Patient Care: Conducting primary assessments, physical examinations, and taking history of patients in OPD or IPD.
Emergency Management: Attending to "Code Blue" emergencies, providing immediate first-line treatment, and managing ICU emergencies.
Treatment Coordination: Implementing treatment plans, ordering diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, ECGs), and prescribing medication as per protocols.
Monitoring and Documentation: Reviewing investigation reports, monitoring patient progress, and keeping accurate, timely documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Communication: Reporting patient progress or abnormal reports to consultants and advising patients/families on health conditions.
Supervision: Ensuring smooth operation of nursing and paramedical staff during shifts.
