JOB DESCRIPTION
The Counsellor is entrusted with nurturing the holistic development of students—addressing their academic, emotional, social, and career needs. This role bridges the gap between personal well‑being and institutional goals, ensuring that students thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
Expanded Responsibilities
1. Student Well‑Being & Emotional Support
· Provide one‑on‑one counselling sessions for stress, anxiety, adjustment issues, and personal challenges.
· Develop coping strategies for students facing academic pressure, peer conflicts, or family concerns.
· Create safe spaces for students to express themselves without judgment.
2. Career & Academic Guidance
· Conduct aptitude assessments, career counselling sessions, and workshops on higher education opportunities.
· Guide students in preparing resumes, interview skills, and professional etiquette.
· Collaborate with placement cells to align student aspirations with industry expectations.
3. Preventive & Developmental Programs
· Organize seminars on mental health awareness, substance abuse prevention, and digital well‑being.
· Facilitate life‑skills training: communication, leadership, decision‑making, and resilience.
· Initiate mentorship programs pairing senior students with juniors for peer support.
4. Institutional Collaboration
· Work closely with faculty to identify students needing intervention.
· Partner with parents to ensure continuity of support beyond the campus.
· Advise administration on student welfare policies and inclusive practices.
5. Documentation & Compliance
· Maintain confidential records of counselling sessions and student progress.
· Prepare reports for accreditation bodies and quality assurance audits.
· Ensure ethical standards in counselling practice are upheld.
Qualifications
· Master’s in Psychology, Counselling, or Social Work (Ph.D. preferred for senior roles).
· Certification in career guidance or psychotherapy is an advantage.
· Minimum 3–7 years of experience in academic or youth counselling.

Reporting Structure
