- We’re looking for a practical, creative, and extremely talented hands-on Chemist, Material Scientist or a Chemical Engineer to join our customer support applications & development team.
- The R&D Application Chemist will provide high-quality technical support & solutions to CS & WLP customers in India, strive to deliver analytical solutions, conduct method development and validation that support customer applications, troubleshooting and product development.
- Characterizing and optimizing existing and newly developed products for electrodeposition of metals for the semiconductor industry
- Design and execute physical and chemical analytical methods to support customer applications such as analysis of customer plating bath chemistries using wet chemical methods, titrations, and CVS, followed by interpretation of results and technical reporting.
- Able to observe, analyze, calculate and interpret results, prepare professional reports and recommend further action based on results.
- Develop and validate new analytical methods in alignment with customer and business needs.
- Conduct failure mode analysis, identify defects and material-related issues, and recommend improvement solutions.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Technical Service Engineers, and Product Teams to support key customer projects.
- Ensure laboratory safety, cleanliness, and adherence to EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) policies.
- Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, and customer reports.
- Monitor lab KPIs and continuously improve lab efficiency and service quality.
- Maintain 5S standards in the laboratory to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Travel within India as required to support customers through meetings and production line process optimization
- Master’s degree in chemistry, Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical application support and/or development within surface plating industries.
- Strong understanding of electrochemistry and surface chemistry
- Experience with plating bath formulation, control, and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with analytical and characterization techniques relevant to metal coatings
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of physical and chemical analysis techniques, instrumentation, and method development.
- Customer Orientation: Ability to understand customer needs and deliver technical solutions that add value.
- Project Management: Skilled in planning, prioritizing, and executing multiple projects within deadlines.
- Problem Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.
- Communication Skills: Clear and professional communication in both English and Chinese, including technical reporting and customer interaction.
- Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Commitment to driving innovation, improving lab processes, and adopting new technologies.
- Compliance & Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of laboratory safety standards, regulatory requirements, and quality systems
