Position Overview:
The Associate Professor in Pharmaceutical Chemistry will be responsible for teaching, conducting research, and contributing to the overall academic and professional development of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The role involves delivering high-quality education in pharmaceutical chemistry, conducting cutting-edge research, mentoring graduate students, and contributing to the advancement of the institution's goals.
Key Responsibilities:Teaching and Curriculum Development:
- Design, teach, and evaluate undergraduate and graduate courses in pharmaceutical chemistry, including topics such as drug design, analytical chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and pharmaceutical analysis.
- Develop and update course materials, including syllabi, lecture notes, assignments, and exams, ensuring alignment with current trends in the pharmaceutical sciences.
- Incorporate innovative teaching methods, technologies, and hands-on laboratory training to enhance student learning outcomes.
- Advise and mentor students on academic and professional development, including research projects, internships, and career guidance.
Research and Scholarly Activities:
- Conduct independent and collaborative research in pharmaceutical chemistry, with a focus on areas such as drug discovery, pharmacokinetics, drug formulation, or analytical chemistry.
- Publish high-quality research papers in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at national and international conferences.
- Seek and secure external funding through grants and collaborations to support research activities.
- Supervise graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in research projects, ensuring the development of new methodologies and technologies in pharmaceutical chemistry.
- Maintain an active research agenda and contribute to the academic reputation of the department and institution.
Service and Administration:
- Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other academic and administrative activities.
- Contribute to the accreditation and review processes, ensuring the department's programs meet national and international standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of departmental policies and strategies to enhance the quality of education and research.
- Foster relationships with external stakeholders, including industry partners, regulatory agencies, and academic collaborators.
- Engage in outreach activities, such as workshops, seminars, and community engagement, to promote the field of pharmaceutical chemistry.
Professional Development:
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in pharmaceutical chemistry through continuous learning, professional development, and participation in relevant conferences and workshops.
- Encourage a culture of research excellence, innovation, and lifelong learning within the department.
Qualifications:Required:
- A Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- A strong record of teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels, with evidence of effective teaching and student mentoring.
- A proven track record of scholarly research and publications in reputable scientific journals.
- Experience in securing research funding through grants and other sources.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment and foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
Preferred:
- Postdoctoral research experience in pharmaceutical chemistry or a related field.
- Experience with laboratory management and curriculum development.
- Industry experience in pharmaceutical development, formulation, or drug analysis is a plus.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
