Position Overview
Tamas Society is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive Junior Accountant to support financial management, accounting operations, and inventory control across its Women Livelihood Projects and e-commerce initiatives. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of social impact, financial management, and rural enterprise development.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting project accounting, ensuring compliance with organizational procedures, and managing inventory systems for products produced and marketed through the organization's livelihood and e-commerce programmes.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Finance
- Maintain books of accounts and financial records in accordance with organizational policies and statutory requirements.
- Record daily financial transactions, vouchers, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
- Assist in preparation of cash books, bank reconciliation statements, ledgers, and monthly financial reports.
- Process vendor payments, reimbursements, and staff advances.
- Support project-wise accounting and budget tracking for donor-funded livelihood programmes.
- Assist in preparation of utilization certificates, financial statements, and audit documentation.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.
- Coordinate with banks, auditors, vendors, and project teams as required.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, taxation, and statutory regulations.
Inventory & E-Commerce Operations
- Maintain inventory records for raw materials, finished products, packaging materials, and consumables.
- Monitor stock movement across the Model Training Centre and community production centres.
- Conduct periodic stock verification and reconciliation.
- Maintain inventory management systems and stock registers.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and e-commerce teams for stock planning and replenishment.
- Generate inventory reports and support product dispatch tracking.
- Assist in managing product records, stock updates, and order fulfilment processes for e-commerce operations.
- Identify inventory discrepancies and recommend corrective measures.
Administrative & Project Support
- Support financial and inventory reporting for livelihood projects implemented across the Eastern Region.
- Assist in data compilation for donor reports and project reviews.
- Participate in field visits to community training centres whenever required.
- Perform other finance, administration, and project-related duties assigned by the management.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent from a recognized university.
- Candidates pursuing or having completed M.Com, CA Inter, CMA Inter, or equivalent professional qualifications will have an added advantage.
Experience
- 2–3 years of experience in accounting, finance, inventory management, or related functions.
- Experience in NGOs, social enterprises, manufacturing units, handicrafts, rural livelihoods, or e-commerce operations will be preferred.
- Fresh graduates with strong accounting knowledge and relevant internship experience may also apply.
Required Skills
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, CRM and accounting software.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and stock control procedures.
- Ability to prepare financial and inventory reports with accuracy.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and organizational skills.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel to project locations across the Eastern Region when required.

Compensation
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and organizational norms. Additional travel reimbursements and project-related allowances will be provided as per organizational policy.
