Position Overview
We are looking for experienced and field-oriented Geologists from India to join our international exploration projects across Africa.
The selected candidates will be deployed to project locations in Zambia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Ethiopia and other African countries, depending on project requirements.
This is a hands-on field position focused on:
- Geophysical Surveys
- Geological Studies
- Geological Mapping
- Bulk Sampling
- Demarcation
- DGPS-based field surveying
- Mineral exploration activities
The ideal candidate should have practical field experience and be comfortable working in remote and challenging environments outside India.
Key Responsibilities1. Geophysical Surveys
- Participate in and support geophysical survey programs.
- Assist with field deployment and operation of geophysical survey equipment.
- Conduct field data collection according to approved survey procedures.
- Record and maintain accurate survey data and field observations.
- Assist in identifying and marking geophysical anomalies and areas of interest.
- Coordinate with geophysicists and other technical personnel during field operations.
- Ensure accurate positioning and documentation of survey points.
2. Geological Studies
- Conduct field-based geological investigations and studies.
- Identify and document geological formations, rock types, structures and mineralization.
- Collect geological observations and samples from exploration areas.
- Analyse and interpret field observations and geological information.
- Assist in preparing geological reports and technical documentation.
- Support mineral exploration and resource evaluation activities.
3. Geological Mapping
- Conduct geological mapping of exploration areas.
- Identify lithology, geological structures, alteration zones and mineralization.
- Prepare geological maps, sections and field sketches.
- Record geological observations using GPS/DGPS and field data collection systems.
- Integrate geological mapping data with geophysical and sampling information.
- Identify prospective zones for further exploration.
4. Bulk Sampling
- Participate in bulk sampling programs.
- Identify and demarcate sampling locations.
- Supervise and monitor collection of bulk samples.
- Ensure samples are properly collected, labelled, recorded and stored.
- Maintain accurate sample registers and tracking records.
- Coordinate transportation of samples to laboratories or designated facilities.
- Follow approved sampling procedures and QA/QC requirements.
5. Demarcation & Field Surveying
- Conduct field demarcation of exploration areas, boundaries, sampling zones and designated work areas.
- Establish and mark survey points and exploration locations.
- Use DGPS for accurate positioning and coordinate collection.
- Verify field coordinates and boundary points.
- Assist survey teams with field measurements and location verification.
- Maintain accurate records of coordinates and demarcated areas.
DGPS Experience
Practical experience with DGPS is highly preferred.
Candidates should be comfortable with:
- Operating DGPS equipment in the field.
- Collecting accurate geographic coordinates.
- Establishing and recording survey points.
- Marking exploration and sampling locations.
- Recording boundaries and demarcation points.
- Coordinate verification and field navigation.
- Transferring and managing GPS/DGPS data.
- Working with coordinate systems and geographic reference data.
- Using DGPS data for geological mapping and exploration activities.
Candidates with hands-on DGPS experience in geological exploration, mapping, surveying or demarcation will be given preference.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Applied Geology, Geological Engineering, Earth Sciences, Geophysics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant field experience.
- Practical experience in geological fieldwork and exploration.
- Good working knowledge of DGPS.
- Willingness to travel internationally and work in African countries.
- Ability to work in remote and challenging field environments.
- Strong physical fitness and readiness for extensive fieldwork.

- Ability to interpret geological observations.
- Basic GIS and mapping knowledge.
- Ability to collect, record and maintain accurate field data.
- Good Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to prepare field reports and technical documentation.
Experience with ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD, Surpac, Leapfrog, Micromine or similar geological software will be an advantage.
International Deployment
Selected candidates will be recruited from India and deployed to international project locations in Africa.
Potential project locations include:
Zambia | South Sudan | Tanzania | Ethiopia | Kenya | Uganda | Ghana | Botswana | Namibia | Zimbabwe | DRC | Other African Countries
Actual deployment will depend on project requirements.
Candidates must be willing to travel from India and work on international field assignments.
Field Working Conditions
The position is primarily field-based and may require:

Candidate Profile
We are specifically seeking Field Geologists based in India who have practical, hands-on experience rather than candidates with only academic or theoretical exposure.
The ideal candidate will have 1+ years of field experience and be confident in geophysical surveys, geological studies, geological mapping, bulk sampling, demarcation and DGPS operations.
Selected candidates will be required to travel from India and work on exploration projects across Africa, including Zambia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Ethiopia and other project locations.
