About the job

Role Summary

MS Clinical Research (MSCR) is seeking a qualified Ophthalmologist to support clinical research activities and participant evaluations for ophthalmology-related studies. The role primarily involves reviewing and assessing trial participants for approximately 2–3 hours per day, conducting ophthalmic examinations as required by study protocols, and ensuring participant safety, protocol compliance, and accurate medical documentation.

This role is ideal for consultants or practicing ophthalmologists looking for flexible engagement in clinical research while contributing to high-quality and ethical study conduct.

Clinical Responsibilities

Examine and assess clinical trial participants as per study requirements.
Conduct ophthalmic evaluations for approximately 2–3 hours per day.
Perform visual acuity testing, slit lamp examination, fundoscopy, tonometry, OCT review, and other ophthalmic assessments as required.
Review participant medical history and determine eligibility for studies. Ensure participant safety and protocol adherence during evaluations.
Identify, document, and report any adverse events or clinically significant findings. Provide medical oversight and guidance related to ophthalmic assessments.
Clinical Research Responsibilities Support ophthalmology-related clinical trials and observational studies.
Review study protocols and ensure compliance with ICH-GCP and regulatory guidelines.
Collaborate with Clinical Research Coordinators, investigators, and sponsors.
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
Participate in investigator meetings, monitoring visits, and audits.
Provide medical input for study-related decisions and subject management.

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain complete and accurate source documentation.
Ensure confidentiality of patient and study data.
Support regulatory submissions and ethics committee requirements. Adhere to SOPs, institutional policies, and applicable regulations.

Collaboration & Training

Work closely with cross-functional teams including medical, QA, data management, and operations.
Train and guide junior staff or coordinators on ophthalmic procedures when required. Contribute to process improvements and quality initiatives.

Qualifications Education

MBBS with MD/MS/DNB in Ophthalmology.
Valid medical registration.

Experience

Minimum 2–5 years of experience in Ophthalmology.
Clinical research experience preferred. Experience in retinal imaging, OCT, visual field analysis, or ophthalmic diagnostics is an added advantage
