Job Title: Senior Nurse - OT

Job Description:
As a Senior Nurse in the Operating Theatre (OT) at Manipal Hospitals, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. You will be responsible for assisting the surgical team during operations, ensuring a sterile environment, and monitoring patient conditions pre- and post-surgery. This position requires a blend of technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct patient care in the operating room, including preparing instruments and equipment for surgery.
Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to safety protocols to prevent infections.
Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth surgical procedures.
Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes in their condition during surgery.
Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery processes.
Participate in the orientation and training of junior nursing staff and students.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in surgical nursing and operating room procedures.
Assist in the management of the OT inventory, ensuring that supplies and equipment are stocked and maintained.
Follow hospital policies and procedures while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and compassion.

Skills and Tools Required:

Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid nursing license.
Proven experience in an operating theatre environment, with expertise in surgical procedures.
Strong assessment skills to monitor patient conditions effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of infection control practices and protocols.
Proficient in the use of medical equipment commonly used in surgical settings.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred.
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and patient management software.
