Accounts Manager (Restaurant & Hospitality)

Accounts Manager

oversees all financial operations, accounting practices, and fiscal reporting for the restaurant. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing cash flow, overseeing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), monitoring Food & Beverage (F&B) costs, ensuring tax compliance, and providing actionable financial insights to the General Manager and Owners to drive profitability.
Key Responsibilities1. Financial Management & Reporting

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
Analyze daily sales reports, point-of-sale (POS) reconciliations, and merchant service payout reports.
Track key hospitality metrics, including Prime Cost (COGS + Labor), Food & Beverage cost percentages, and average check sizes.
Conduct weekly/monthly variance analyses comparing actual performance against budget and historical data.

2. Cost Control & Inventory Accounting

Collaborate with executive chefs and bar managers to perform regular inventory audits (food, liquor, supplies).
Calculate precise cost of goods sold (COGS) and identify waste, shrinkage, or pricing discrepancies.
Analyze recipe costing and menu profitability to advise management on pricing adjustments.

3. Accounts Payable (AP) & Vendor Management

Verify, process, and reconcile supplier invoices (produce, meat, beverage, utilities, laundry).
Ensure proper coding of expenses to correct GL (General Ledger) accounts.
Manage vendor payment schedules to optimize cash flow while maintaining good vendor relations and taking advantage of early-payment discounts.

4. Cash Management & Banking

Audit daily register tills, cash drops, petty cash, and tip distributions.
Perform daily bank reconciliations and monitor cash balances to meet operational needs.
Manage credit card processing accounts, chargebacks, and transaction fee reconciliations.

5. Payroll & Labor Cost Management

Process bi-weekly/monthly payroll for front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) staff, including tipped employees.
Ensure compliance with labor laws regarding minimum wage, tip pooling/credits, overtime, and meal breaks.
Reconcile tip allocations, credit card tip payouts, and service charges.

6. Compliance, Taxes & Audit

Ensure timely filing and payment of local sales tax, occupancy taxes, payroll taxes, and corporate taxes.
Maintain licenses, permits, and regulatory compliance (liquor licenses, health department fees, business permits).
Coordinate with external CPAs or auditors for end-of-year tax preparation and annual audits.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (or equivalent experience).
Experience: 8 -12 years of accounting experience

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
