A Packing Supervisor oversees the packing department to ensure products are packaged safely, accurately, and efficiently, meeting quality and food safety standards. They lead a team of packers, manage inventory of packing materials, handle scheduling, and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Typical responsibilities include training staff, improving packing processes, and maintaining, inspecting and troubleshooting packing machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management: Organize, supervise, and coordinate the daily packing activities to ensure timely production.
- Quality Control: Ensure products are packed according to specifications, maintaining high quality and complying with food safety, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Team Leadership: Hire, train, train, mentor, and supervise packing staff, managing schedules and workflows.
- Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels of packing materials (e.g., boxes, tape, labels) and coordinate with procurement.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform or oversee inspections of packing machines, and troubleshoot or initiate repairs to avoid downtime.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of production, including Batch Production Records (BPR), and generate reports on efficiency, waste, and safety.
- Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks and implement changes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and reduce west.
