Position Overview
Experienced and results-driven Pre-Sales Manager with strong Solution Architecture / Technical Architecture exposure to own and lead the execution of entire pre-sales activities. The role requires a strong technical foundation with end-to-end project delivery experience in a client-facing role, along with exposure to solution design and architecture.As a key stakeholder who understands customer needs, he/she will deliver winning solution proposals with close coordination between Sales, Solution Architects, Technical Architects, and Delivery leadership. These solution proposals include capability presentations, technical solution designs, architecture approaches, and techno-commercial proposals.The candidate should have a good understanding of designing and architecting cloud-based solutions, including cloud deployment architecture and microservices-based architectures. The role also requires exposure to solution architecture for mobile, web, desktop, and cross-platform applications across different platforms.Strong execution capability and the ability to manage a small team of pre-sales engineers is a must. He/she will be responsible for crafting proposals for MQLs, helping Account Based Marketing (ABM) activities with the right technical solutions. The role also requires helping and directing pre-sales engineers to effectively conduct their daily activities. This role involves close collaboration with business and delivery leadership and leading cross-functional teams that drive the company's growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sales Solution Development
- Develop high-impact presentations demonstrating technical capability and solution proposals for Account-Based Marketing and Sales activities.
- Understand customer business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable and feasible technical solutions.
- Participate in the design and architecture of end-to-end software solutions in collaboration with Solution Architects, Technical Architects, and Delivery teams.
- Contribute to the design and architecture of cloud-based solutions, including deployment architecture, microservices, APIs, integrations, scalability, security, and performance considerations.
- Demonstrate an understanding of application architecture across mobile, web, desktop, and cross-platform application development.
- Evaluate technology options and recommend suitable architectures, platforms, frameworks, and deployment approaches based on customer requirements.
- Contribute to technical solutioning, architecture discussions, technology selection, effort estimation, and solution strategy.
- Ideate and guide the development of technical demonstrators or Proof-of-Concept (PoC) prototypes, and other live demonstrable technical assets showcasing the capabilities of the organization.
- Collaborate with technical leaders and delivery teams to validate the feasibility, scalability, and maintainability of proposed solutions.
- Create and deliver technical content to the marketing team, crafting white papers and blogs from technical workshops, webinars, and hackathons conducted within the organization.
- Create case study examples from completed projects and provide them to the marketing team for publishing.
- Help the marketing team develop capability presentations by delivering technical content that represents the organization in the best possible form.
Proposal Management
- Own the end-to-end proposal development lifecycle, coordinating with Sales and Delivery leaders — from opportunity qualification and storyboarding through final response submission and post-submission activities support.
- Develop techno-commercial responses to RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and competitive differentiation while leading a cross-functional team.
- Work closely with Solution Architects, Technical Architects, Delivery Managers, and Engineering teams to develop technically sound proposals.
- Translate customer requirements into technical approaches, solution narratives, architecture views, implementation strategies, and project plans.
- Collaborate with legal, commercial, and delivery teams to ensure pricing, SLA, and contractual terms are viable and deliverable.
- Maintain and enrich a centralized repository of reusable proposal document assets, including proposal templates, boilerplates, legal and commercial terms, technical materials, and architecture assets.
- Track bid pipeline, proposal KPIs, and win/loss analytics; share insights with Sales leadership to continuously improve proposal effectiveness.
Pre-Sales Lead Nurturing
- Conduct deep technical analysis of MQLs and provide account-based intelligence to the marketing team for preparing compelling synergy presentations.
- Analyze customer technical requirements and identify suitable technology and solution approaches for new business opportunities.
- Provide thorough reviews and fine-tuning guidance to technical content writers and the marketing team to create marketing collaterals.
- Research and learn domain-specific terminologies, regulations, standards, technology stacks, and service offerings to help BD leaders build new vertical segments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Leadership
- Work closely with Account Managers, Delivery Managers, Solution Architects, Technical Architects, Engineering Leads, and BD leaders to ensure collaboration and team sync.
- Act as a bridge between customer requirements, business objectives, and delivery capabilities.
- Mentor pre-sales engineers and guide them to function effectively.
- Guide pre-sales engineers in technical solution development, proposal preparation, architecture discussions, and customer presentations.
- Conduct internal knowledge-sharing and discovery sessions with technical leaders on emerging technologies, industry trends, and new customer projects.
- Lead small cross-functional teams during solution development and proposal activities.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- 9–15 years of experience in software service organizations in a client-interacting role with at least 3 years in a Solution Architect, Technical Architect, Pre-Sales Lead, or similar technical solutioning responsibility.
- Strong experience in technical solution development, software architecture, and end-to-end software project delivery.
- Strong understanding of designing and architecting cloud-based solutions and cloud deployment models.
- Good understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-native application design.
- Exposure to designing and architecting solutions for mobile, web, desktop, and cross-platform applications.
- Understanding of application deployment architecture, APIs, integrations, scalability, security, and performance considerations.
- Experience in preparing technical and commercial proposals for software projects working with cross-functional teams.
- Experience working closely with Solution Architects, Technical Architects, Delivery Managers, and Engineering teams to develop technical solutions and proposals.
- Strong experience in end-to-end proposal management, including RFP, RFI, and RFQ responses.
- Experience in architecture discussions, technology selection, effort estimation, or defining technical approaches for customer projects.
- Team management and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Hands-on familiarity with Microsoft Office productivity suite and popular AI platforms.
- A learning mindset with openness to exploring unclear requirements.
- Strong customer-facing, presentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional) will be considered a plus.
- Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, Containerization, AI/ML, Analytics, and IoT will also be considered a plus.
- Experience in technical workshops, customer discovery sessions, PoCs, solution demonstrations, and architecture presentations will be an added advantage.
- Experience working with international customers will be an added advantage.
