Role Overview:
The Pharmacy Sales Staff will support the pharmacist and owner in daily pharmacy operations. Primary responsibilities include assisting customers, reading and processing prescriptions under pharmacist supervision, managing stock by coordinating daily medicine orders with suppliers, and maintaining accurate records. This is a hands-on role for someone detail-oriented, reliable, and interested in a stable long-term position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and greet customers; provide courteous, accurate service.
- Read and interpret prescriptions clearly and check for completeness before handing to the pharmacist.
- Prepare and label medication for pharmacist verification and dispensing.
- Coordinate with suppliers and distributors: place daily medicine orders, follow up on deliveries, and track lead times.
- Monitor stock levels, perform routine inventory checks, and flag low-stock or near-expiry items.
- Maintain accurate records of orders, invoices, returns, and supplier communications.
- Handle OTC product recommendations and minor counselling under pharmacist guidance.
- Keep the pharmacy clean, organized, and compliant with storage and hygiene standards.
- Assist with billing and cash transactions; reconcile sales at shift end.
- Support regulatory compliance by maintaining documentation and following pharmacy policies.
- Be available for flexible shifts as required and participate in occasional training.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; diploma/certificate in pharmacy assistance or related field preferred.
- Basic ability to read and understand medical prescriptions (training can be provided, but prior experience preferred).
- Good communication skills in local language(s) and basic English.
- Familiarity with MS Excel or basic pharmacy billing software is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and reliability.
- Ability to coordinate with suppliers and manage daily ordering tasks.
- Honest, customer-focused, and committed to long-term employment.
Experience:
- 1–2 years experience in a retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or medical store preferred but not mandatory for motivated candidates.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, shift-based schedule; occasional weekends or early/late shifts as required.
- On-site role with physical tasks such as shelving, lifting small boxes, and standing for long periods.
