Job Summary
We are looking for a Junior Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical) to support the maintenance team in ensuring smooth operation of plant machinery and utilities. The candidate will assist in preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance while maintaining equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and following all safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery and equipment.
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Support maintenance activities for wire drawing machines, cranes, compressors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Attend machine breakdowns and assist in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults.
- Execute Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules and maintain proper maintenance records.
- Assist in installation, commissioning, and relocation of plant machinery.
- Monitor machine performance and report recurring issues to senior maintenance engineers.
- Maintain maintenance logs, checklists, equipment history, and daily reports.
- Ensure proper lubrication, cleaning, and servicing of machines.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Purchase, and Stores departments for maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, SOPs, and company maintenance procedures.
- Support spare parts management and inventory control.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, TPM, and Kaizen activities.

Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with industrial machinery maintenance.
- Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of motors, gearboxes, compressors, pumps, bearings, and electrical panels.
- Basic understanding of PLCs, VFDs, and industrial automation will be an added advantage.
- Ability to troubleshoot routine mechanical and electrical problems.
- Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance (PM) systems.
- Familiarity with TPM, 5S, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and safety practices.
- Good planning, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office and maintenance documentation.
Candidate Profile
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in steel, wire, engineering, automotive, or heavy manufacturing industries will be preferred.
- Basic knowledge of cranes, compressors, furnaces, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment is desirable.
- Ability to work in shifts and attend emergency breakdowns whenever required.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work effectively in a team.
