Full job description

Job Description – Engineer (Quality Assurance)

Position: Engineer – Quality Assurance (QA/QC)

Qualification

B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical, Marine, Naval Architecture, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Certification in NDT/QA-QC (CSWIP, BGAS, ASNT Level II, ISO 9001 Internal Auditor, etc.) is preferred.

Experience

3–4 years of experience in QA/QC, in shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore, fabrication, or heavy engineering industries.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with approved quality plans, client specifications, class requirements, and applicable marine standards.
Conduct inspections for hull, piping, machinery, welding, painting, and outfitting activities.
Review drawings, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), WPS/PQR, material certificates, and quality records.
Coordinate stage-wise inspections with clients, classification societies, and third-party inspectors.
Monitor welding quality, dimensional accuracy, NDT activities, coating inspections, and testing processes.
Raise, monitor, and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective/preventive actions.
Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentation, inspection reports, checklists, and quality dossiers.
Ensure calibration of inspection and measuring instruments.
Support ISO Quality Management System implementation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Coordinate with production, planning, engineering, and project teams to resolve quality issues.
Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and company quality standards.

Required Skills

Sound knowledge of QA/QC procedures, marine standards, and shipyard quality practices.
Familiarity with Class Rules (ABS, DNV, IRS, BV, LR, etc.) and statutory requirements.
Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Good knowledge of welding inspection, NDT methods, and coating inspection.
Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and QA documentation systems.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
