Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented **Senior Merchandiser – Kids Garments** to lead end-to-end merchandising operations for our growing Kidswear business. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in buyer handling, costing, order management, sourcing, production coordination, and shipment execution.
The role requires close collaboration with buyers, sourcing teams, production units, quality teams, and logistics partners to ensure timely delivery of high-quality garments while meeting customer expectations and business objectives.
Candidates with prior experience in Kidswear manufacturing and handling both Domestic and Export buyers will be highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Buyer & Client Management
· Manage and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international buyers.
· Act as the primary point of contact for all merchandising-related communications.
· Understand buyer requirements, seasonal trends, product specifications, and quality expectations.
· Attend buyer meetings, presentations, and product development discussions.
Product Development & Sampling
· Coordinate with design and sampling teams for new product developments.
· Ensure timely execution of proto, fit, size-set, PP, and production samples.
· Monitor sample approvals and buyer feedback for smooth order execution.
Costing & Order Management
· Prepare accurate garment costing and price negotiations with buyers.
· Analyze fabric consumption, trims, accessories, and manufacturing costs.
· Confirm orders and ensure all critical path activities are planned effectively.
· Manage order confirmations, purchase orders, and contract requirements.
Production Management
· Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely order execution.
· Track production progress and proactively resolve bottlenecks.
· Ensure adherence to delivery timelines and production milestones.
Sourcing & Vendor Coordination
· Coordinate with fabric mills, trim suppliers, and sourcing partners.
· Ensure timely procurement of raw materials and accessories.
· Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate commercial terms.
Quality & Compliance Coordination
· Work closely with QA/QC teams to ensure buyer specifications are met.
· Monitor quality checkpoints throughout the production cycle.
· Ensure compliance with buyer standards and manufacturing requirements.
Shipment & Logistics Management
· Coordinate with logistics, shipping, and documentation teams.
· Ensure timely shipment planning and execution.
· Track shipment schedules and resolve dispatch-related issues.
· Monitor export documentation and buyer compliance requirements.
Reporting & MIS
· Prepare merchandising reports, order status updates, and management dashboards.
· Maintain accurate records in ERP and merchandising systems.
· Generate periodic performance reports for management review.
Required Skills & Competencies
· Strong knowledge of Kidswear garment manufacturing.
· Expertise in knitwear and woven garment merchandising.
· Excellent buyer communication and relationship management skills.
· Strong understanding of costing and price negotiations.
· Experience in TNA management and critical path monitoring.
· Sound knowledge of fabrics, trims, accessories, sourcing, and garment construction.
· Strong production follow-up and order execution capabilities.
· Knowledge of export procedures and shipment coordination.
· Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
· Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to manage multiple orders simultaneously.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and merchandising software.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Educational Qualification
Mandatory
Bachelor's Degree in:
· Fashion Technology
· Apparel Production
· Textile Technology
· Fashion Merchandising
· Fashion Design
· Textile Engineering
· Or any related discipline
Preferred
· Diploma/Certification in Apparel Merchandising
· Supply Chain Management Certification
· Fashion Retail Management Certification
Experience Requirement
· Minimum **7–10+ years of experience** in Apparel/Garment Merchandising.
· Proven experience in **Kidswear Manufacturing** is mandatory/preferred.
· Experience handling both **Domestic and Export Buyers**.
· Strong exposure to end-to-end order management and execution.
· Experience in managing large-volume garment orders.
