A Restaurant Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, supporting restaurant operations, assisting service staff, and ensuring guests receive smooth and hygienic dining service. The role includes table setup, clearing, cleaning utensils, and maintaining hygiene standards in the restaurant and pantry areas.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome and assist guests politely.
Set up tables with cutlery, crockery, napkins, and glassware.
Serve water and assist waiters during service.
Clear used plates, glasses, and utensils from tables.
Maintain cleanliness of dining area, pantry, and service stations.
Ensure proper hygiene and sanitation standards are followed.
Refill service items and maintain stock of cutlery and crockery.
Assist in polishing glasses, plates, and utensils.
Coordinate with kitchen and service team for smooth operations.
Handle guest requests professionally and quickly.
Follow grooming and uniform standards at all times.
Support opening and closing duties of the restaurant.
Requirements
Basic communication skills.

Ability to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Physically fit and able to stand for long hours.
Prior restaurant/hotel experience preferred.
Basic knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards.
