Role description
Job Description:
- Salesforce DevOps Engineer with around 8 years of overall IT experience, including strong hands-on experience in Salesforce development, release engineering, CI/CD implementation, and environment management.
- Design, implement, and maintain Salesforce DevOps pipelines using Copado, Salesforce DX, Git-based version control, and automated deployment practices across sandbox, UAT, and production environments.
- Own end-to-end release management activities including planning, validation, promotion, deployment, rollback readiness, and post-release verification.
- Configure and optimize Copado for user story driven development, branching strategies, deployment workflows, static checks, and audit-ready release governance.
- Collaborate closely with Salesforce developers, admins, QA teams, product owners, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable, repeatable, and high-quality releases.
- Drive DevOps best practices across source-driven development, metadata management, automated testing, code review processes, and environment synchronization.
- Troubleshoot deployment issues related to metadata conflicts, test failures, permission dependencies, profiles, and environment-specific configuration.
- Support integration of quality gates into the release lifecycle, including unit testing, regression testing, validation builds, and compliance checks.
- Define and maintain deployment documentation, release notes, change records, and traceability across requirements, code changes, test results, and production releases.
- Highly preferred: expertise in integrating Copado DevOps with Jira to enable seamless synchronization of user stories, defects, release tracking, and delivery governance.
- Contribute hands-on to Salesforce platform development when required, including Apex, Lightning Web Components, configuration, and metadata packaging aligned with DevOps standards.
- Stay current with Salesforce release updates, Copado capabilities, and modern DevOps practices to continuously improve deployment speed, quality, and reliability.
Key Role Requirement:
- Copado DevOps & CI/CD Expertise
Strong hands-on experience in configuring and managing Copado pipelines, promotions, deployments, quality gates, merge processes, and release orchestration for Salesforce applications.
- Jira Integration - Highly Preferred
Expertise in integrating Copado DevOps with Jira for bidirectional traceability across user stories, defects, sprint execution, approvals, and release tracking is highly preferred.
- Salesforce Release Management
Experience in planning and executing Salesforce releases across multiple environments with strong understanding of validation, rollback planning, deployment sequencing, and post-production verification.
- Version Control & Branching Strategy
Good understanding of Git-based workflows, branching models, merge conflict resolution, and source control best practices for Salesforce metadata and source-driven development.
- Salesforce Development Foundations
Solid experience with Apex, triggers, Lightning Web Components, flows, and configuration to effectively support deployment troubleshooting and collaborate with development teams.
- Environment & Metadata Management
Hands-on knowledge of sandbox strategy, org synchronization, metadata dependencies, profiles, permission sets, data seeding, and deployment readiness across environments.
- Automation, Testing & Quality Controls
Ability to integrate automated testing, code quality checks, validation builds, and release controls into the Salesforce deployment lifecycle to improve reliability and reduce manual effort.
- Governance, Audit & Compliance
Experience in maintaining traceability, change approvals, deployment documentation, release notes, and audit-ready DevOps processes in enterprise Salesforce programs.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
Ability to work effectively with developers, QA, admins, scrum teams, product owners, and business stakeholders to deliver stable and predictable Salesforce releases.
Certifications:
Must Have / Preferred Certifications:
- Salesforce Platform Developer I or Salesforce Administrator.
- Copado Fundamentals Certification or relevant Copado DevOps certification preferred.
- Salesforce Platform Developer II, App Builder, or DevOps-related certifications are good to have.
- Jira Administration or Atlassian-related certification is an added advantage.
