Web Spiders seeks a smart, curious, AI-savvy Senior Data Scientist to join our cutting-edge Data Science team. We hire the best and brightest and give them the opportunity to work with industry-leading technologies. ‍ The project is for a U.S.-based consumer purchase insights company that leverages real-time transaction data and AI-driven analytics to help brands, marketers, and financial institutions understand consumer spending behavior and drive growth. ‍ The Data Science team currently builds statistical and machine learning models that help clean, normalize, and transform credit card transaction data from semi-structured into structured form. Then, we build panels, cohorts, balancing, and calibration methodologies to make the data easier to use and power our ad-tech/mar-tech products at scale. For example, we help customers precisely and effectively measure marketing campaign effects, identify consumer spend behavior insights, and inform strategy against competition. ‍ In this role, you will be working jointly with data scientists and engineers in the US on improving the usability of data. This includes a broad range of problems from paneling, to normalizing and balancing, to predicting future spend behavior, and doing all of this in a cost-effective manner. You will also be working on applying these methodologies to specific customer problems, such as identifying consumer category trends. ‍ Experience Level: 4+ Years Location: Kolkata (Rajarhat–Newtown) Mode of Working: Work from Office Required Qualifications Advanced degree in Statistics/Operations Research/Mathematics/Computer Science/Economics or other fields that provide advanced training in statistical modeling, and 4+ years of industry experience. Deep knowledge of the fundamentals of statistical reasoning, Machine Learning, and data modeling. Proven ability to conceptualize business problems and craft sound and practical modeling and analytical solutions. Strong software engineering and data engineering experience. Solid knowledge and experience with Python and SQL. Experience writing production quality code. Experience building data pipelines on cloud platforms for efficient data processing, using technologies such as Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, and data lakes such as Amazon S3. Entrepreneurial, highly self-motivated, collaborative, keen attention to detail, willingness and capable learn quickly, and ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a demanding environment, ability to drive projects independently. Great communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) ‍ Duties and Responsibilities Engage in R&D to research, evaluate, and implement in Client´s products new statistical modeling methodologies including but not limited to areas of data balancing and projection, cross-sectional analysis, predictive modeling. Optimize algorithms to run in a cost-effective manner at scale.
