Role Overview:
The General Manager – Technical Services will lead the technical function of the manufacturing unit, ensuring smooth and efficient plant operations by providing expertise in process engineering, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and technology transfer. This role demands strong leadership, deep technical knowledge of chemical processes, and the ability to optimize productivity, safety, and cost efficiency while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Technical Support & Plant Operations – Provide technical guidance, troubleshoot complex issues, and support maintenance/production teams
✔ Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement – Drive yield improvement, energy efficiency, waste reduction, and implement advanced process control systems
✔ Compliance, Safety & Quality – Ensure strict adherence to GMP, ISO, OSHA, REACH, and other regulatory standards; support audits and enforce SOPs
✔ New Product & Technology Support – Collaborate with R&D on scale-up, process validation, commercialization, and customer technical support
✔ Leadership & Team Development – Build, mentor, and lead a strong technical services team, fostering innovation and accountability
✔ Cost & Performance Management – Monitor plant performance metrics, drive cost-reduction initiatives, and ensure optimal resource utilization
✔ Cross-functional & Customer Interface – Act as a technical bridge across departments, evaluate vendors, and deliver customer-facing technical solutions
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong process engineering and chemical plant troubleshooting expertise
In-depth knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes, utilities, and equipment
Familiarity with EHS norms, regulatory compliance, and global quality standards
Excellent leadership, decision-making, and communication skills
Strategic thinking with hands-on problem-solving ability
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: B.Tech / M.Tech in Chemical Engineering (Ph.D. preferred but optional)
Experience: 18–25 years in chemical / specialty chemicals / petrochemicals industry, with at least 5–7 years in a senior technical leadership role
