The Eminent News (TEN) eminentnews.com/ eminentnews.in , is a digital first news platform focused on delivering accurate, timely, and engaging current affairs for aspirants and young readers. We are transforming traditional physical news consumption into an interactive digital experience, and building a habit of daily news reading among the youth.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Current Affairs Content Writer who can track daily news across all major fields (national, international, economy, polity, science & tech, sports, environment, awards, schemes, etc.) and convert it into clear, simple, and engaging content for our audience, especially exam aspirants and young readers.
The content will be published in multiple formats:
- Short news articles and explainers
- Social-media–friendly short posts
- Short videos and reels realted to news only (script + basic editing support)
- Image-based explainers, infographics, and headlines
Key Responsibilities
- Track and update daily current affairs across all important domains relevant for competitive exams and general awareness.
- Write short, crisp, and accurate news summaries that are easy to understand and revision-friendly for aspirants.
- Create explainer content that breaks down complex topics into simple points, FAQs, and key takeaways.
- Prepare scripts for short videos/reels and coordinate with the design/video team for visual content (pics, clips, infographics, thumbnails, etc.).
- Rewrite and adapt content for multiple platforms (website, app, YouTube, Instagram, Telegram, etc.).
- Ensure fact-checking, neutrality, and clarity in every piece of content.
- Suggest innovative ideas to make news more interesting for youth and build a daily news-reading habit (quizzes, series, weekly round-ups, etc.).
- Maintain a content calendar and ensure consistent daily updates.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong interest in current affairs, news, and competitive exams.
- Excellent command over English and/or Hindi and Later phase alos includes other 21 language mention in COI
- Ability to summarize big news into short, impactful points without losing accuracy.
- Basic understanding of digital content formats: short form, long form, video scripts, social media posts.
- Comfort with using tools like Google Docs, WordPress/other CMS, basic Canva or similar tools (good to have).
- Ability to work under daily deadlines and handle fast news cycles.
- Prior experience with a news portal, edtech, or exam-preparation platform will be an added advantage.
