Akalp Techno Media Solutions LLP is looking for a highly experienced Senior Content Writer with 10+ years of professional experience in news, digital media, journalism, or content publishing.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in current affairs, government, public affairs, elections, social issues, and daily news developments, along with excellent research, writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
The candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality digital content, monitoring daily developments, researching topics, producing timely articles, and ensuring accuracy and editorial quality.
Key Responsibilities
1. News & Content Writing
- Write high-quality, engaging, and informative articles for digital platforms.
- Cover daily developments related to government, public affairs, current events, elections, social issues, and major national and state-level developments.
- Convert breaking developments, statements, announcements, and events into timely publish-ready content.
- Develop original story ideas based on current events and emerging trends.
- Write detailed articles, explainers, features, opinion pieces, and analytical content.
- Create compelling headlines, introductions, sub-headings, and article structures.
2. Research & Fact-Checking
- Conduct in-depth research before developing stories.
- Track developments through reliable news sources, official announcements, press releases, interviews, statements, and social media.
- Verify facts, names, dates, statistics, statements, and other important information.
- Research background information to provide appropriate context to stories.
- Ensure content is accurate, credible, and well-researched.
3. Breaking News & Real-Time Content
- Monitor multiple sources for important and emerging developments.
- Produce accurate content within tight deadlines.
- Quickly convert breaking developments into publishable stories.
- Continuously update articles as new information becomes available.
- Maintain accuracy and quality while working under pressure.
4. Digital Content Development
- Write content specifically for websites and digital media platforms.
- Develop SEO-friendly articles while maintaining natural and engaging language.
- Understand basic SEO principles, keyword placement, and content optimization.
- Create content suitable for websites, social media, Google Discover, and other digital platforms.
- Repurpose long-form stories into short-form digital content when required.
5. Editorial & Quality Control
- Proofread and edit content for grammar, readability, accuracy, and clarity.
- Review articles prepared by other writers.
- Maintain consistent editorial standards across all content.
- Identify factual, grammatical, or contextual errors before publication.
- Ensure content follows company guidelines and publishing standards.
6. Content Planning
- Prepare daily and weekly content plans.
- Identify trending topics and potential high-performing stories.
- Suggest new content formats, topics, and story ideas.
- Track audience interests and content trends.
- Coordinate with social media, graphic design, and video teams for content distribution.
7. Team Management & Mentoring
- Guide and mentor junior and mid-level content writers.
- Review and improve content produced by team members.
- Assign and monitor content-related tasks when required.
- Train team members on research, writing, editing, headlines, and fact-checking.
- Ensure timely delivery and consistent quality of the team's content.
Required Skills & Expertise
- 10+ years of professional experience in content writing, journalism, digital media, or news publishing.
- Strong experience covering current affairs, government, public affairs, elections, social issues, and major news developments.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Strong research and fact-checking abilities.
- Excellent command of Hindi and/or English.
- Strong understanding of news writing and digital content.
- Ability to write high-quality content under tight deadlines.
- Excellent headline-writing skills.
- Strong proofreading and editing abilities.
- Basic understanding of SEO and digital content optimization.
- Strong knowledge of current events and emerging trends.

The candidate should have excellent awareness of current affairs and day-to-day developments, strong editorial judgment, and the ability to identify stories that are relevant, timely, and engaging for the audience.
Relevant news/current-affairs experience is mandatory.
Pay: Up to ₹40,000.00 per month
